We are seeking a detailed-oriented, thorough, and organized Service Project Buyer to support the Service RMR (Retrofits, Modification and Revisions) distribution projects team during all phases, from Sales to execution, in North America. The Service Project Buyer plays a crucial role in the sales phase of the company by leading the bid management of procurement activities. This role will facilitate the creation of RFP and submittal for 3rd party equipment and site-based services. In this position, you will work alongside cross-functional teams to ensure that the development of engaging and competitive bids meets the specified requirements. You will also be responsible for reviewing the scope and identifying risks and opportunities after proposals are submitted. After the project awarded you will be responsible for the project procurement (contracting) of 3rd party products and services (site installation labor).

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Develop and maintain a Supply Base that builds long term strategic relationships with key supply partners that provide Vanderlande with a competitive advantage within the material handling system market. Support the process of supplier selection, meeting the defined needs of the Project Procurement and Subcontractor Strategy requirements Analyze, create, and implement innovative supply opportunities and strategies that enhance the market position and/or profitability on a local and global level Support the Service sales team in the issuance of RFPs and the gathering of proposals and pricing from 3rd party suppliers to put together a complete and competitive proposal for the customer. Gather the correct information from the sales team to ensure RFPs are accurate and complete prior to submittal to suppliers. Will generate and maintain the Supply Plan in every step of the sales phase. Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the sales cycle schedule is on track. Manage communication between the sales team and suppliers, and/or subcontractors to ensure proper information is communicated and the sales milestones and requirements are met. Keep the supply plan updated as the RFP process progresses and communicate any changes or concerns with the sales team. Attend meetings on a frequent basis and deliver status updates. Support the sales team in scheduling clarification calls with suppliers and managing RFIs that are submitted. Evaluate the RFP documents for risk and communicate any concerns to the sales team before sending them to bidders. Evaluate proposals and support in cost leveling to help drive negotiation and ensure the company can put their best foot forward with the customer. Support adherence to the minority participation requirements set forth by the customer. Draft, improve and enforce the use of all contract templates for the legal engagement of installation services, construction subcontractors, equipment suppliers and service level providers in collaboration with Corporate Counsel. Works independently writing contracts with little to no guidance from manager Ability to negotiate with suppliers. Support and collaborate with Project Engineering and Execution team to minimize total project risk and cost. Incorporate work instructions associated with Project Procurement and supervise the archival, sharing and protection of critical project communication documents related to Project Procurement Execute ethical principles and standards of Procurement practices to comply with all applicable safety, regulatory and quality system requirements.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent preferred 6 – 8 years of progressive experience (Sourcing, S&OP, Logistics and Operations) in Procurement/Supply Chain Contract writing experience, knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts Prior experience in the Material Handling Systems industry or similar (Construction/Contracting or Engineering industry) is advantageous.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization were cooperating with others and being a team member is a natural APICS (Association or Operations Management) certification (CPM or related) preferred Experience moving seamlessly between cultures Tough-minded, results-oriented attitude Ability to direct work of multiple reports and supervise concurrent tasks while effectively prioritizing and coordinating works assignments to meet deadlines Ability to work independently with little supervision. Excellent analytical and financial skills Creative, out of box, thinker Strong communication and decision-making skills and ability to act as proactive ambassador for the department Drive and ambition to elevate the department to higher levels Confidence take charge mentality, hands-on Experience with MS office and ERP systems Willingness to travel 10% domestic and internationally
