A DAY IN THE LIFE
Develop a Procurement Process to standardize best practices in the purchasing of project materials and subcontractors Train Design Build Managers on intelligent and value driven procurement processes Create negotiation tactics to have win-win contracts Create and manage project-specific templates, reports, and tools that align with project and company objectives Assist Company Executives in negotiating Corporate Agreements Understand potential risks and help mitigate associated problems Develop a system to identify “best fit for purpose” partners Drive incremental and measurable value Develop and apply strategies to reduce costs in the procurement of project materials and subcontractors including: Coordinate the negotiation between ARCO and subcontractors/suppliers on over 300 projects per year Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends to ensure competitiveness Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules Analyze procurement data and prepare reports for senior management to inform decision-making Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations throughout the procurement process Pre-negotiate rates with index adjusters coordinating with the Design Build Managers Strategically initiate and develop relationships with supplier C-Suite Executives to: understand pricing and supply trends which can assist our cost and delivery forecast Negotiate rebates from key commodity suppliers
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, construction, or business management 10-15 years of experience in supply chain logistics or construction purchasing Experience in expediting supplier quality management and/or material management Proficiency in the formation and administration of purchase orders from bidder prequalification to disputes Experience in applying efficient procurement processes, structures, and analytical tools Highly developed analytical and communication skills (written and verbal), combined with a structured work style and a pragmatic hands-on approach Ability to challenge “conventional” thinking, consider others’ views, and convince with facts considering a proactive approach to overcome resistance
