Lean Six Sigma Certification Full Job Description Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to join our dynamic corporate team. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies while driving cost efficiency across the procurement function. Your expertise in product knowledge, acquisition strategies, total cost analysis, process improvement, change management and supplier management will be essential in achieving our business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading strategic sourcing and acquisition strategies that will directly impact bottom line performance while working with top tier operation construction companies across our footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development:

Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Identify market trends, internal customer (Business Unit) preferences, and competitive landscape to drive innovation and value within the category. Stay current on the latest cost benchmarking, supply management best practices and world-class spend management strategies.

Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and build alliances with strategic & minority suppliers while nurturing existing supplier relationships. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, discounts, and product support. Collaborate closely with suppliers to drive innovation, continuous and quality improvement, and supply chain efficiencies. Lead negotiations with strategic vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and exclusive deals. Drive cost savings initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.

Spend Management:

Assess cost impact(s) of new contracts and pricing structures and conduct financial analysis to negotiate favorable terms whiles driving cost efficiencies. Collaborate with Operations to plan and execute category objectives to maximize asset ROI and utilization.

Supply Management:

Develop and execute supply planning strategies, ensuring on-time product availability while minimizing excess costs and gaps in operational needs. Collaborate with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams, including BU Operations, Fleet, and Finance to ensure on-time demand fulfillment for critical assets.

Acquisition Strategy Development:

Identify and develop acquisition best-practices that drive optimal NPV for asset categories. Lead and analyze impacts of asset economic life, R&M, and utilization performance that best leverage acquisition levers such as CAPEX, Op Leases, disposals, and internal transfers. Collaborate with BU leaders and Finance to develop optimal acquisition strategies that align with CAPEX and Op Lease planning.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across numerous departments to develop and deliver strategic initiatives related to category assets. Lead and support change management efforts within business units to leverage strategic vendor programs adoption and synergy.

Ideal Requirements:

MBA and/or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in supply chain, business administration, construction management. Lean Six Sigma certification. Advanced ability to cleanse, analyze, and manage large amounts of data via Excel, SQL, Power BI. 7-10+ years of experience as a Senior Buyer or Category Manager at a minimum Familiarity with construction materials, equipment and on-road service trucks. Willingness to travel approximately 10-25% of the time. At least 2 years of experience in the construction or warehouse operations field.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar role, preferably within a construction, 3PL or other high fleet volume industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends. Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities. Demonstrated ability to get things done in a complex environment, where technology improvements may not always be available. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful category strategies. Solid understanding of change management, cost reduction strategies, promotional planning, and strategic sourcing principles. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software for market research and performance analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Entrepreneurial spirit and results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving business growth and profitability.
