Job Description

Manager of Procurement Services Distribution Cooperative Inc 1281 Highway 155 S, McDonough, GA 30253 Overview Distribution Cooperative, Inc. (DCI) is a 501(e) support services, non-profit entity serving 501(c)(3) non-profit hospitals in the state of Georgia. DCI began business in 2000 as Promina Health System’s Distribution Center, and then transitioned to a stand-alone, non-profit entity in April 2005. The primary function of DCI is to provide warehousing, inventory, and delivery functions to its member patrons. The operational aspects of DCI include 24/7 on-demand, and 7 days per week scheduled medical-surgical primary distribution services to its member patrons. Our mission at Distribution Cooperative, Inc. is to provide excellent supply and distribution services to our Member Patrons at the lowest cost possible.

Position Summary:

This role is vital to the success of DCI and the members we serve. Purchasing all items, ensuring all contracts are loaded and accurately updated, assisting with Customer Service issues and concerns as well as ensuring chargebacks are captured and billed in accordance with processes and procedures.

Duties Includes the following:

(Other duties may be assigned) Lead the strategic procurement process to allow for operational efficiency Optimized suppliers and supply chain processes. The Purchasing Manager will take a broad, holistic view of issues and opportunities, anticipating future implications with a clear recognition of the key business success factors. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will have a significant understanding of and experience in leading in the highly complex world of medical supplies. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This includes cross-functional teams such as Client Accounts, Finance, HR and Supply Chain Operations Exceptional leadership abilities to lead and coordinate, train and develop and assess talent for replacement positions as needed Develop and implement strategic development initiatives; provide ongoing leadership for these initiatives. Participate in developing and ensuring business analytics and reporting are established for targeted areas of responsibility. Address contract questions from colleagues; explain basic terms and conditions Identify opportunities for procurement process improvement Develop and maintain relationships with each client’s legal and/or procurement representatives Provide administrative support for vendor audits

Data Analysis:

Analyze chargeback trends and identify root causes to reduce future deductions

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work with sales, logistics, finance, and customer service to address chargeback-related issues.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain records of chargebacks and create reports for management to track financial impact.

Process Improvement:

Develop strategies to minimize chargebacks through operational enhancements and compliance adjustments. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and stakeholder relationship management skills to engage others, build consensus, and resolve issues Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of leading practices in procurement and strategic sourcing as well as operational models for shared service programs Proficient computer skills with advanced skills in MS Office applications including Excel Qualifications and Education 6-8 years of experience with procurement/contracts required Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, operations or other relevant areas Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
