The IT Procurement Lead plays a pivotal role in aligning procurement practices with Humana’s strategic goals, ensuring that the organization effectively manages its resources while fostering strong supplier partnerships that drive value. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the IT Procurement Lead will contribute significantly to Humana’s overall operational efficiency and success in achieving its business objectives.
The role of the IT Procurement Lead is crucial in ensuring that Humana effectively acquires and manages its technology resources while aligning with the overall business strategy. Here’s a breakdown of the responsibilities and expectations for this position:
Key Responsibilities:
Development of Category Strategies:
Lead the formulation of multi-year category strategies for IT Services procurement.
Design sourcing plans that align with Humana’s business and financial goals.
Sourcing and Negotiation:
Oversee the end-to-end RFX (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, etc.) process.
Identify and establish relationships with strategic suppliers to maximize value creation.
Negotiate and draft agreements that mitigate financial and business risks while enhancing terms and conditions.
Implementation and Oversight:
Implement contracts and drive supplier relationships to ensure ongoing value and performance.
Ensure strong alignment with key functional leaders and business partners across the organization.
Advisory Role:
Serve as a trusted advisor to functional leaders regarding procurement strategies and supplier management.
Provide subject matter expertise on categories including professional services and contingent labor.
Policy and Procedure Development:
Ensure that all procurement processes are aligned with IT standards and strategies.
Collaboration:
Partner with other teams to implement complex category strategies and address escalations.
Champion supplier relationships to drive enterprise-wide value.
Problem Solving:
Work on a range of problems from moderate to substantial complexity, ensuring effective resolution. Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree
5 or more years’ experience in sourcing IT Services
5 or more years’ experience negotiating Terms and Conditions in Master Agreements
Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies that meet pressing demand schedules. Additional Information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$104,000 – $143,000 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
