Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage all purchasing, procurement, and shipping/receiving functions for ourpany. As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our supply chain, including tracking orders, maintaining vendor relationships, and managing inventory levels. You will lead a team, provide guidance, and work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure that procurement needs are met on time and within budget. This is a permanent, salaried position with opportunities to take on more responsibility and grow within thepany.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and track the purchasing process from requisition to vendormunication and shipment scheduling.
Send daily packing slips to accounting and manage the 7-day shipping report and receiving backlog.
Lead daily production meetings to review project progress and discuss issues.
Update purchase orders and inform departments about potential delays.
Maintain weekly office supplies and manage vendor relationships withpanies like WB Mason and Staples.
Track and process purchase requisitions, maintain vendor files, and file BOLs for accounting records.
Set up shipments with small carriers via WorldShip, FedEx, DHL, and others.
Coordinate warehouse duties as needed, working with the finishing and inventory departments.
Oversee international shipping, including pricing, carrier selection, and planning.
Organize and sort iing emails, prioritizing them and adding tasks to the task matrix.
Adjust purchase order estimates for invoicing and ensure proper HTS codes (Tariff Codes) for international shipments.
Maintain trade agreements and update pricing information as needed.
Assist with intepany orders and ensure smooth shipping coordination with the sales department.
Process and confirm planned purchase orders and verify needs with vendors.
Respond to inquiries from carriers like FedEx, UPS, and others regarding customs clearance.
Ensurepliance with international paperwork requirements in accordance with IATA, DOT, and Dangerous Goods regulations.
Coordinate with inventory for iing and outgoing subcontract orders and materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment or procurement management.
Stronganizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, including daily production meetings, inventory management, and shipping.
Ability to work cross-functionally, including interacting with sales, inventory, and accounting departments.
Proven leadership experience, with a focus on team development, accountability, and maintaining high standards.
Experience managing purchase requisitions, vendor relationships, and trade agreements.
Knowledge of international shipping practices, including tariffs, IATA, DOT, and Dangerous Goodspliance.
Ability to track and update purchase orders, resolve discrepancies, and manage invoicing.
High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records for accounting and inventory control.
Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective collaboration with team members and external partners.
Ability to conduct “tough love” conversations and maintain a balance between leadership and empathy.
Willingness to learn and grow in new areas such as tariff code identification, international paperwork, and customs procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with MES shipments and creating picking lists through new procedures.
Familiarity with AX and WorldShip shipping software.
Training or experience in handling international paperwork, including IATA and DOT regulations.
