Shipping & Receiving/Purchasing Manager Minimum requirements: High School Education with minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving and purchasing. Experience in the electrical construction industry or relatable construction industry as to shipping, receiving and warehousing equipment and materials is preferable. Bachelor’s degree in business would be preferred. Must be computer literate and proficient in

programs to include: Word EXCEL Must have a demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 30-40 words per minute (minimum) accurately with the necessary keyboard skills to create documents without “hunting and pecking” for keys. Must have the ability to learn and interface with company software programs, which is currently the VIEWPOINT/Vista Construction Software Program. Must be physically able to assist others in unloading or loading trucks, and/or be able to perform this task by yourself, if needed. Position requires loading and unloading trucks with either forklift, or rough terrain lift. The applicant should be familiar with the operation of these machines and or willing to be trained on their use. Must be willing to work in a facility that is adjacent to, but not connected to the main office building and accomplish tasks without being directly supervised and must be willing to work during times of the day where loading and unloading in the weather conditions that is reasonably expected for this area will occur. Weather could be hot, cold, or raining and the employee should understand that some work is outside of facility in these conditions.

Duties of this position:

1. Be responsible for unloading all incoming shipments from truck lines or other carriers and documenting the delivery, the condition of the materials upon delivery, annotating any damages from delivery, and then marking the items as “received” in the accounting system to allow any subsequent invoices to be processed. a. While there are usually workers who do this task, if those workers are not at the site, the requirement rests with the person who takes this position to unload, or load as is required. 2. Be responsible for the loading of trucks from the facility on a daily basis to include checking inventory out of stock and getting the appropriate paperwork completed for a delivery leaving the main warehouses and arriving on construction sites. a. While this is usually done by other staff, the requirement to load, or unload is the requirement of this position to accomplish, either with or without additional help. 3. Be responsible for obtaining pricing for materials, writing purchase orders properly in the VIEWPOINT/Vista construction software, and sending purchase orders to the vendors with release dates and information contained on the PO. 4. Be responsible for overall coordination of construction equipment as to having it serviced, repaired and making arrangements for equipment to be shipped from construction sites to the office, or from the office to construction sites. 5. Be responsible for management of warehouse worker(s) and truck drivers to accomplish the pulling of orders, transportation of materials and equipment, and return of same from project sites. 6. Other duties as assigned by management . Facilitate the ordering, receiving, shipping of construction materials and equipment to and from vendors to the jobsite and from the jobsite back to the office as is required. 7. Interface with project management staff and accounting staff to compile and complete purchase orders, solve issues in billing between the purchase order and vendor invoices and otherwise obtain the smooth and timely flow of materials to and from vendors to construction sites. 8. Coordinate with workers in the field to take and fill orders from “in stock” inventory to the extent it is available and if not available arrange for the items to be “priced competitively” and then purchased and delivered from vendors in our current system.
