Under general direction, responsible for developing, monitoring, and pursuing tactical and strategic initiatives/projects in a specialized area (e.g., commodities, vendor/contract relationships, or supplier management). Prepares analytical reports and forecasts in order to track product costs. Recommends appropriate course of action to senior purchasing/sourcing leaders. Works closely with other purchasing/sourcing staff to ensure total cost productivity. Role typically requires more than 5 years of experience. General Overview The Category Manager for Nuisance and Drinking Water Systems is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies across two critical categories: nuisance water systems (such as sump pumps, flood mitigation solutions, and drainage equipment) and drinking water systems (including filtration units, dispensers, and related components). This is a high visibility role within both Wayne Water and EcoWater as this position will play a key role in cross-functional aspects of sourcing, including NPD, quality initiatives, and financial reporting. This role ensures the reliable, cost-effective supply of high-quality components and systems by analyzing market trends, evaluating and managing suppliers, optimizing supply chains and negotiating favorable contracts. Overall Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies to meet company targets for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This includes identifying potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, negotiating contracts, and onboarding new suppliers. Market Analysis
  • Research and analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and supplier capabilities to make informed sourcing decisions. Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, monitor and effectively communicate their performance, drive continuous improvement, and address any issues or disputes. Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to execute supplier quality management program. Inventory Management
  • Ensure buying team are effectively purchasing to production targets and NPD launches, lead min/max reviews with buyers, and establish favorable inventory terms with suppliers (e.g., stocking agreements, consignment). Sourcing Financial Targets
  • Develop strategies to meet company working capital targets (e.g., inventory turns and supplier payment terms). Sourcing Optimization
  • Drives sourcing optimization projects with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g., cost reduction, continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and leveraged spend). Performance Measurement
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including cost savings, supplier performance, and completed contracts. Provide sourcing data to internal stakeholders. Sourcing SME
  • Represent sourcing in cross-functional initiatives. Buyer Management
  • Lead category-specific buying team. Ensure they effectively execute the day-to-day aspects of sourcing strategies and understand key aspects of supplier contracts. Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards, as well as government regulations.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPM, CSCP) is a plus. 7+ years of supply chain, sourcing, or category management experience in manufacturing; water industry experience is a plus. Strong verbal, written, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, supplier relationship management, and global sourcing skills. Superb ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to think and produce results at a strategic level. Sound understanding of business law, legal contracts, and financial impacts related to inventory, cash flow, and working capital. Proficiency in ERP, MRP, and QMS systems as well as data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP, etc.). Working Conditions Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours but will vary according to special projects, deadlines or other concerns. Travel between facilities and to suppliers will be required as needed, expected to be approximately up to 25%. 80,000.00
