- 5:00pm Purpose of the Job The Purchasing Operations Supervisor leads a team of purchasing professionals who support Replacements’ trusted STAR Supplier network
- partners who source rare and discontinued tableware and collectibles for our customers.
In this role, you’ll guide the team that serves as the primary point of contact for our suppliers, overseeing communication, receipt closings, and supplier data accuracy. You’ll also monitor daily workflow, support training and coaching, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve service quality and supplier satisfaction. This role blends people leadership, procurement operations, and supplier relationship management to drive performance and uphold Replacements’ mission to connect people with the pieces that matter most. What You’ll Do Lead and Support a High-Performing Team Supervise, train, and coach purchasing team members to ensure procedures are followed and quality standards are met Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and timecard approvals Conduct performance evaluations, provide real-time feedback, and lead coaching or recognition conversations Partner with HR and leadership to resolve employee concerns and support a positive, productive work environment Support Supplier Partnerships and Purchasing Operations Serve as a resource and escalation point for supplier concerns, resolving issues with professionalism and care Oversee the timely and accurate closure of supplier receipts and ensure supplier data is maintained correctly Monitor and improve daily service workflows using internal systems (e.g., POLARIS), ensuring suppliers receive consistent, high-quality support Collaborate cross-functionally to improve service delivery and maintain strong STAR Supplier relationships Drive Departmental Performance and Continuous Improvement Analyze trends, monitor team productivity, and communicate insights to leadership Assist in developing and tracking departmental budgets, forecasts, and performance goals Prepare key reports (e.g., Trend Report) and contribute to strategic planning initiatives Participate in Agile projects and system testing to improve tools and workflows Support hiring and onboarding by participating in interviews and helping identify strong candidates What We’re Looking For Technical & Product Knowledge Ability to learn and apply detailed product knowledge, including identifying variations in china, crystal, silver, and collectibles Comfortable learning and using specialized inventory and purchasing systems (e.g., Orion, Optical Pattern Identifier) Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Work Habits & Team Contribution Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently structure daily tasks and manage multiple priorities Accuracy-focused and detail-oriented, especially when following complex procedures Flexible and adaptable in a high-volume environment with shifting demands Commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workspace Strong collaborator who thrives in a team-oriented culture Communication & Service Orientation Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset Commitment to delivering excellent service to internal teams and external supplier partners Physical Requirements Occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, and safe ladder use Ability to occasionally push or pull carts and safely lift up to 25 pounds Compliance with all safety policies and procedures Education and Other Specialized Skills Previous experience in a supervisory or management role required, preferably in purchasing, procurement, supplier relations, or a related field Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and support a diverse team Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across departments and with external partners Demonstrated experience managing workflows, resolving issues, and driving team performance in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and planning skills; able to interpret data, spot trends, and make informed decisions Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity, professionalism, and service Commitment to continuous learning and openness to new systems, tools, and process improvements Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
