Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Purpose of the Job Under minimal supervision, the Purchasing Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing employee workflow, productivity, and quality within the Purchasing department. This role ensures employees are trained, following procedures, and supported in day-to-day operations. The Supervisor assists with personnel matters, provides administrative support, and helps maintain a safe, efficient work environment. Key responsibilities include managing the timely payment of supplier receipts, supporting the STAR Supplier program, and maintaining strong seller relationships. The Supervisor also utilizes POLARIS to plan, assign, follow up on, and report work activities and trends. Additional responsibilities include preparing the departmental Trend Report and assisting the Manager with annual budget planning. What You’ll Do Monitor and execute the department’s daily plan (DSL), adjusting staffing and resources as needed to meet operational goals Oversee daily workflow using POLARIS, including preparing production plans, assigning work, and communicating trends to operational leadership Provide timely, effective resolution to supplier and internal customer concerns using strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of company policies Ensure timely and accurate closure of supplier receipts and maintenance of supplier data, including updates to the STAR Supplier website Maintain accurate product and pattern information in ORION and direct team efforts in setting buy/sell prices through market research Supervise, train, and support employees to ensure compliance with procedures and achievement of quality standards; conduct regular quality checks and report results Manage employee timecard approval, monitor attendance, and work with the Manager to address performance or attendance issues Lead and participate in performance evaluations, coaching sessions, disciplinary actions, recognition programs, and related documentation Collaborate with Human Resources, department leadership, and peer supervisors to resolve employee concerns and support team success Prepare schedules, manage vacation and time-off requests, and ensure adequate daily coverage across assigned areas Oversee multiple cost center areas as assigned and provide cross-coverage support as needed Contribute to departmental budget planning, including volume forecasting, labor planning, and expense tracking Manage the creation of the departmental Trend Report and other reports as assigned Participate in Agile and Information Systems initiatives by providing area-specific insights and assisting in system testing and tool development Support the recruitment process by participating in interviews and helping identify qualified candidates for the department and across the company Other Duties and Responsibilities Trained and responds to Code calls as required. Assists with other tasks, projects, and administrative duties as required.
