The Position Manage project purchasing activities (i.e. tendering,conditions of contract, bid evaluation and clarification, contractpreparation and negotiation) in large investment projects. Act ascommunication link between Investment, Engineering & Sourcing (IES)and investment projects stakeholders. Act as sourcing responsibleand follow standardized procedures for undertaking tenderingaccording to Good Procurement Practices. RelationshipsManager/Director. Essential Functions Manage procurement activitieswhich, among other tasks include supplier selection in agreementwith our category managers, executing tendering processes, bidclarification and evaluation, terms & conditions and contractpreparation and negotiations Full commercial responsibility for theprocurement of assigned goods and services Operate the departmentin compliance with approved SOP’s & company policies & proceduresManage suppliers to achieve planned outcomes based on businessneeds & drive on-going improvement in supplier performance Ensurebalance between the business and project objectives in regards totriple bottom line, risk assessment and deliveries in a complexsetting Ensure total cost views are considered in major investmentproject and challenge these if projects have not been viewed from atotal cost perspective Utilize knowledge of suppliers relativepositioning & market trends & activities to build competitiveadvantage into purchasing practices Provide supplier and contractdata to Category Managers in order to fulfil IES’s ambition on highquality data on the IES Supplier List Oversee local supplieronboarding, contract management, coverage & compliance Responsiblefor analyzing and developing business opportunities, procurementstrategies and plans for the procurement activities & obtain buy-inon from relevant stakeholders on all levels within the companyIdentifies, pursues, & maximizes opportunities for realizing costsavings without sacrificing the quality, service & reliabilityexpected of our suppliers Develop & maintain internal & externalstakeholder relationships Support investment projects and Line ofBusiness with pros and cons in relation to the procurementalternatives Supports the Supplier Diversity program & promotes theinclusion of diverse suppliers in all sourcing initiatives Ensurethat non-financial objectives are also considered. E.g. Circularfor Zero and Responsible Sourcing Interfaces with IES in Denmark toensure optimal use of procurement systems & US involvement inglobal sourcing projects & related efforts Consider new tools,theory and methodology for optimizing worldwide processes, sourcingand/or supplier relationships Contribute to development of the IESSupplier base Generally, support department development activitiesand colleagues by sharing better practices Follow all safety &environmental requirements in the performance of duties Otheraccountabilities, as assigned Physical Requirements Ability to workin an open office environment with the possibility of frequentdistraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can changeon a case-by-case basis based on the role.) QualificationsBachelor’s degree in economics, Engineering, Business, Finance,Procurement, Accounting, Purchasing or similar field from anaccredited university required Minimum of seven (7) yearsprogressively responsible experience in sourcing/procurement orproject management in capital investment projects requiredProcurement management responsibilities from positions in NorthAmerica and internationally preferred Experience from thepharmaceutical industry or other regulated industries preferredProven knowledge of strategic good procurement / engineeringpractices and their application to the purchase of equipment andservices preferred Experience with development of procurement toolsand templates and ability to develop strategies within technicalprocurement preferred Strong negotiation sills & contracting skillspreferred Experience in supporting a team towards specific goalsand defining new objectives for constant improvement of businessprocedures preferred Able to challenge specific projects anddevelop alternative solutions preferred Ability to build andmaintain good working relationships & possess excellent peopleskills as well as a profound understanding of quality, time andstakeholder management preferred Solid verbal, writtencommunication, and presentation skills required Solid analyticalskills and a significant practical experience in analyzing complexnumbers and issues preferred Solid process improvement ≺oblem-solving skills preferred Ability to develop & manage actionplans to achieve targets required We commit to an inclusiverecruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our jobapplicants.
