Careers with our Clients through Forvis Mazars Executive Search Commodity Procurement Manager – located west of Charlotte, in the Gaston County area Our privately owned manufacturing client is seeking a demonstrated Commodity Procurement Manager to develop, implement and manage purchasing strategies, source and negotiate with vendors and manage the acquisition of supplies and materials for this manufacturing plant. This is a highly collaborative leadership position and will oversee a small staff. Professional communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities and sharp negotiation skills are required, as is proven experience delivering results across the supply chain.
Manage full purchase order process:
request, vendor selection, scheduling, updates and adjustments Maintain accurate and detailed database records: supplier information, purchase records, annual spend projections and related forecasting and budget Submit RFQ and RFP to vendors: compile engineering specs, ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements and delivery expectations Issue purchase orders, track delivery, manage incoming materials and coordinate return/replacement for vendor/supplier noncompliance Manage domestic and global vendor communication, pricing and contract negotiations and vendor selection and management Utilize MRP/ERP + Excel to analyze and monitor inventory and stock on hand and plan for future demand Evaluate vendors, ensuring performance is aligned with specs Identify areas for improvement and design efficient and effective processes, implementing KPIs and metrics
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or equivalent 5+ years of procurement and vendor management experience – preferably in manufacturing or distribution Comprehensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management Proven negotiation skills around pricing, vendor management solutions and assessment of suppliers Hands-on approach with strong communication skills and excellent negotiation capabilities Strong of
ERP / MRP
software skills This is a permanent position and is on-site. The base compensation range for this role will be $135k – $145k or so and the position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
