Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to lead their sourcing and purchasing operations. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, vendor negotiation, and cost control within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and production schedules. Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels. Analyze market trends and assess risks to ensure supply chain continuity. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to forecast demand and manage budgets. Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CPM, APICS). Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with local and international sourcing regulations.
