Job Overview The Senior Director of Technical Procurement supports the VP ofCritical Infrastructure Procurement by leading procurement teamsdedicated to managing Network Procurement spend. This leader playsa critical role in building and nurturing relationships withsenior-level business stakeholders to ensure internal cohesionaround high-complexity category strategies that directly impactcritical operations. This role is responsible for all network real estate procurement,which includes cell site leases, Mobile Switching Office (MSO)transactions, and venue and small cell agreements. The Senior Director understands the priorities of businessstakeholders and enables their success by driving alignment ofcategory strategies with business goals. They provide oversight forthe development and execution of category strategies driven by therespective category teams and supported by various ProcurementOperations teams. They are expected to build long-term strategies using a combinationof deep experience and comprehensive market analysis, includingindustry forecasts and vendor earnings insights.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering against key financial and performance metricsassociated with the Network Procurement spend managed by theirteam.
  • Ensuring cross-functional coordination across engineering,operations, finance, and legal to drive value creation and mitigatesupply risk.
  • Leading tough, high-level negotiations with senior executives,often in complex and high-stakes environments.
  • Effectively relaying strategy and updates to C-suite executiveswithin a Fortune 50 company with clarity, impact, andprecision.
  • Coaching and developing a high-performing team of procurementprofessionals, fostering a culture of innovation, continuousimprovement, and stakeholder focus.
  • Developing future leaders within the organization by aligningthem with strategic expectations and supporting their careerdevelopment and training.
  • Monitoring industry trends and supplier markets to anticipaterisks and leverage opportunities for cost savings and valueenhancement.
  • Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, contractnegotiations, and supplier relationship management fornetwork-related goods and services. Un-carrier

Oversee the development of category strategy and value creationinitiatives for to capture intended benefits and drive criticalbusiness operations. Monitor overall team performance against category performancemetrics and approve mitigating actions as needed. Serve as point of escalation to category managers and SourcingExecution Excellence team for resolving risks and issues associatedwith supplier selection decisions as needed. Serve as primary point of escalation in resolving negotiableissues for preferred suppliers. Serve as the primary point of escalation for resolving contractexecution issues identified by the Contract Execution Team. Participate in Supplier performance reviews with senior-levelbusiness stakeholders for preferred suppliers. Participate inContract Lifecycle Management (CLM) escalation activities asneeded. Approve continuous improvement initiatives identified by therespective category managers and the Supplier Management team. Serve as primary point of escalation for issues that arisewithin. Oversee annual performance management process and long-termcareer progression of category team members. The Experience You’ll Bring 10+ years extensive tenure in managing pertinent categorieswith proven track record for benefit realization across multiplehigh impact spend categories. 10+ years’ experience in leadership roles. 7-10 years consulting procurement transformationexperience. 4-7 years extensive tenure in the Telecom industry. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, SupplyChain, Operations, or equivalent experience required; Master’s ofBusiness Administration preferred.
