Summary This role is responsible forpartnering with DS internal senior stakeholders to lead, assess,develop, negotiate, and execute strategic sourcing activities (bothU.S. and Global) from RFP through to contract execution. Leads allaspects of strategic sourcing to ensure best value (cost, quality,Account Mgmt, timelines) for the businesses. Performs in-depth bidanalysis and complex negotiations for efficiencies. Harnessesenterprise-wide knowledge and perspective coupled with in-depthfunctional knowledge to process, analyze, and prioritize valueoptions that optimally benefit the stakeholders, DSI, and DS Group.

Develops comprehensive global category management strategies touncover strategic insights to help influence and inform Businessdecisions. Proactively seeks out and recommends new processimprovements to optimize and enhance efficiencies and ways ofworking. Takes ownership and project manages a high volume ofhigh-level projects which involves working with suppliers andinternal stakeholders to define scope and review of work orders andagreements. Mitigates supplier issues and develops action plans toresolution. Leads supplier relationship management to ensuresuppliers are meeting expected performance levels and drivinginnovative ideas for potential Brand application. ResponsibilitiesLeads all strategic sourcing efforts from vendor assessment, RFP,negotiation, award, and contracting with senior businessstakeholders for DS products and alliances. Develops comprehensiveglobal category management strategies which involves in-depth spendanalysis, identifying opportunities, key insights, marketplaceintelligence, and trends, to help inform Business budgeting andsupplier utilization decisions. Partners with senior businessstakeholders across functions to understand business objectives andcreate annual plans to align objectives with sourcing strategiesand solutions to achieve optimal results. Ensure that procurementpolicies and methodologies are understood and utilized. Serve asthe lead “relationship manager” to deliver best practices to thebusiness partners. Leads supplier relationship management to ensuresupplier performance meets expected services levels and drives andenables innovation for potential Brand application, and continuousimprovement. Leads complex bid analysis, commercial contractnegotiations, and execution, partnering closely with internalstakeholders such as Marketing, Legal and IT etc. Ensures contractsinclude the appropriate terms and conditions for cost, quality,payment terms, timelines, and mitigates any risk; while ensuringall contracts are executed in accordance with company policies.

Develops and executes risk management strategies designed toprotect DSI and DS Group and assure continued supply of goods andservices. Accountable for delivering cost reduction and value-addedbenefits to meet annual department and Business savings targets.

Measure savings/value delivered to the business by utilizing anapproved global savings calculation methodology savings trackingtool which includes both cost reduction and cost avoidance.

Proactively seeks out and identifies new areas of opportunity todrive additional sourcing value as well as identify, evaluate, andrecommend best-in-class processes and tools. Works closely withProcurement Operations to integrate the Small BusinessAdministration plan and P2P continuous improvement into allsourcing activities. Demonstrates thorough understanding ofprocurement processes/procedures, business, and legal language incontracts and supplier management. Develops strong relationshipswith preferred suppliers. Actively manage preferred supply base forassigned categories and reinforce compliance. QualificationsSuccessful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications belowwith or without a reasonable accommodation. EducationQualifications (from an accredited college or university)Bachelor’s Degree required MBA and/or Certified Professional inSupply Management (C.P.S.M) highly desired ExperienceQualifications 5 years strategic sourcing experience requiredExperience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contractmanagement required Indirect procurement and pharma experience ispreferred Experience working with an e-Procurement tool ispreferred Experience leading and participating on cross-functionaland/or global teams required Internal stakeholder management,category management, process and continuous improvement expertise,project management and supplier performance measurement skills isrequired Procurement process knowledge, contract management,financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, suppliermanagement, supplier diversity is required Marketing Procurementexperience in the pharmaceutical industry including but not limitedto Creative Agencies, Media Planning and Buying, Market Access,Market Research, and Patient Assistance Programs.
