Exempt Summary of the Role We are looking for an experienced buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in obtaining required materials, sourcing from additional vendors, and consolidating vendors to meet our organization’s procurement needs. This position requires a blend of Excel proficiency and knowledge of ERP processes to optimize our purchasing strategies.

Responsibilities:
Sourcing Strategy:

Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.

Risk Assessment:

Assist in evaluating potential risks associated with suppliers and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.

Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, and Quality Assurance, to ensure sourcing decisions support overall business strategies.

Order Management:

Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and address any issues related to order fulfillment.

Expediting:

Follow up and expedite the delivery of purchase orders placed with vendors.

Report Review:

Review daily and weekly reports related to late-confirmed and non-confirmed purchase orders in both the U.S. and Canada.

Inventory Oversight:

Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock and prevent shortages or overstock situations. Collaborate with Field Inventory Managers.

Skills and Abilities:

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Exceptional quantitative, data analysis, and interpretation skills. Experience using ERP systems to support reporting and analytics. Strong project management and process improvement capabilities. Proven problem-solving experience in reducing total costs and improving processes. Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred but not required. A high school diploma with 5-7 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with procurement software and tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
