We are looking for a Director of Procurement to add to our team! Share Food Program (“Share”) is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Food insecurity is a crisis in our communities. The ripple effects of the pandemic, record rates of inflation, and critical cuts to government assistance benefits have plunged even more people into hunger and poverty. Today, Share feeds hundreds of thousands individuals each month—more than half of whom are children and seniors. Organization Overview Share Food Program (“Share”) is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Food insecurity is a crisis in our communities. The ripple effects of the pandemic, record rates of inflation, and critical cuts to government assistance benefits have plunged even more people into hunger and poverty. Position Overview As a Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for sourcing top quality food items and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spending, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers. Core Responsibilities Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking Assess, manage and mitigate risks Seek and partner with reliable food vendors Determine quantity and timing of deliveries Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand Skills and Competencies Proven working experience as Procurement Manager Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management Interest in market dynamics along with business sense A knack for negotiation and networking Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures Solid judgement along with decision-making skills Strong leadership capabilities

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers Excellent organizational skills Attention to detail Proficient in Netsuite and Microsoft Suites, particularly Excel Experience in database management Data entry Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

Position requires sitting up to 90% of the time Position requires keyboard use or repetitive hand motion

Position includes potential exposure to loud noises, extreme temperatures, and allergens up to 20% of the time.
