- Tuition reimbursementSummaryThe Sourcing Manager will develop and implement strategies for best practices regarding cost, risk and schedule balance for assigned commodities.
The Sourcing Manager will continuously improve the processes and technical solutions to meet the customer’s expectations. The Sourcing Manager will deliver complex, custom-engineering solutions to a diverse customer base with challenging schedules and cost boundaries. In this role the incumbent will have project management and commodity buying responsibility that may vary upon business needs.
ResponsibilitiesLeads and manages overall supply chain activities for assigned projects from OTO (offer to order) to OTC (order to completion)Creates, controls, and executes project-related optimized sourcing strategies to ensure project success and risk mitigationReviews customer specification and provides procurement related comments as neededPerforms market analysis, negotiates diligently with suppliers on technical and commercial issues to ensure that material and services purchased are done so in the most effective manner at or below market levels or cost estimates for the work.
Coordinates and aligns purchasing activities with the global Material Group ManagerReviews, controls, forecasts and reports the status of the project purchasing budget and activities as requested during project review meetings.
Provide customer-focused assistance to internal customers, particularly in association with key projects and requirementsMust be willing and able to travel domestically and internationallyPurchases material and services (as signed) in accordance with established policies and proceduresDevelop collaborative relationships / strategic alliances with suppliers to promote quality improvement and cost reductionsSupport special project activities for the team as assigned by the Director of Supply ChainQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering discipline3-5 years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Project Management in multinational corporationHydro experience is a strong assetAbility to build networks and work in cross-functional environment with different suppliersStrong negotiation skillsSelf-directed and detail-oriented with the desire to solve problemsStrong work ethic with a positive attitudeKnowledge of SAP softwareAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsExcellent communication skills in English and French(verbal and written)Technical knowledge on Generator componentsVoith US Inc. is an
