Quality Electric of the Coastal Carolinas, LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our team in Summerville, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, maintaining vendor relationships, overseeing inventory, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies. This position plays a vital role in supporting our construction operations by streamlining purchasing processes, conducting cost analysis, and maintaining accurate stock levels to keep projects running efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Create and manage purchase orders to meet project and warehouse stock requirements. Organize and oversee warehouse inventory, ensuring efficient storage and accurate stock levels. Negotiate with vendors to obtain competitive pricing, favorable terms, and timely deliveries—considering cost, lead time, and overall value. Review electrical construction plans and specifications to identify and forecast material requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers. Implement and manage a purchasing schedule aligned with project timelines and field needs. Conduct weekly and monthly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Perform detailed cost estimates and material takeoffs based on project drawings and scope. Identify and onboard new suppliers when existing vendors cannot meet demands. Monitor surplus and supply use to minimize waste and reduce excess inventory. Provide weekly and monthly inventory reports to management. Coordinate and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and collaborate with the accounting team.
General Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing or inventory management in a construction or electrical environment. Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Officer, or similar role—preferably in the construction or electrical industry. Strong knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and industry suppliers. Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in reporting and documentation.
Compensation:
- Full – Time
Salary:
$65,000 – $75,000, based on experience.
