Position Overview:
LJS Solutions is seeking a skilled and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead and execute all purchasing activities. This role requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable taking ownership of daily purchasing tasks, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials to support our projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Directly handle the day-to-day purchasing of materials, equipment, and supplies for jobs, service calls, and inventory. Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed. Create and manage purchase orders, confirm order accuracy, and track deliveries to ensure on-time performance. Analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance, and market conditions to support data-driven decisions. Maintain accurate records of all transactions, pricing, and supplier communications. Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and procedures. Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and project teams to align purchasing efforts with company goals.
Qualifications:
Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment. Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and handle purchasing responsibilities independently. Ability to read manufacturing drawings. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, data analysis, reporting). Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Experience with procurement or ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems). Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of material handling and storage systems is a plus.
