We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Purchasing Manager within our Sourcing capability. This position reports to Plant Operations Manager and will work in Greenbrier, TN Location. About the position As a Purchasing Manager in the Sourcing team, you will be involved in managing the spend of direct materials and collaborating with other Dometic divisions to leverage spend control, reduce cost, and maintain competitiveness. This is a critical role in our Sourcing function responsible for planning and executing the strategies needed to ensure adequate sources of supply are available to meet production requirements and optimize quality, service, and cost. Your main responsibilities Develop a thorough strategic plan to drive business value with foundational considerations for organizational needs, supply markets, spend baselines, and benchmarks. Develop and execute the monthly and annual cost reduction plan including financial targets. Oversight of Strategic Sourcing in managing logistics and customs of inbound and outbound freight, duty, tariff, brokerage, and trade compliance to ensure uninterrupted flow of goods. Responsible for proper RFQ compliance and cost analysis. Prepare RFQs and seek quotes from current or new suppliers, negotiate prices, terms, delivery, tooling costs, and lead-times. Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Engineering and Quality through sourcing new parts, tools, and suppliers. Manage commodities and spend while identifying opportunities for synergies. Serve as the SME in regulatory compliance requirements including ever-changing economic and trade trends, risks and threats that may affect strategic sourcing and purchasing policies. Analyze and calculate product component costs, negotiate lowest costs with suppliers, and review quotes against similar manufacturing methods, processes, and market trends. Conduct “spend analysis” to determine top “spend” items, commodities, activities, or suppliers to leverage and promote the most effective use of company funds. Track Strategic Sourcing KPIs on monthly basis. Monitor raw materials to minimize increases of materials costs. Identify cost reduction opportunities within assigned commodities categories. Support and manage sourcing activities throughout new product development and launch stages. Participate in product launch meetings, and report on supplier or supply readiness to meet product launch schedule. Conduct “make vs. buy” analyses and make recommendations. Facilitate or assist to resolve supplier quality and on time delivery issues. Assist with evaluating and monitoring on-going supplier quality and technical capabilities and performance. A suitable background would be a Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field. A Masters’ degree in a related discipline is considered an asset. SCMP, C.P.P., C.P.M or a similar professional designation or equivalent is a plus. Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in purchasing and sourcing. Minimum 5 years of managing suppliers and negotiating long term agreements. Project Management experience and or related professional designation is a plus. Experience negotiating with different regions and cultures, within a global, highly matrixed organization. Good knowledge of customs, logistics, trade and regulatory compliance, government rules and regulations, and import/export procedures. Able to read basic drawings and specifications of various products; able to analyze and organize complicated data. Ability to use influence to coach at all levels of the organization.
