Position Summary The Sourcing Manager contributes to the success of Buckman USA by managing relationships with suppliers for assigned spend categories, managing the total costs involved with the supply chain, and by ultimately ensuring the best total value for the reliable supply of purchased materials.

Key Position Outcomes Include:

Develop sourcing strategy and supply agreements for assigned Buckman spend categories to include raw materials and PFR’s and other goods/services for Buckman USA as assigned Contribute to the planning and ongoing information flow processes Forecasting material price changes and market/industry trends Working with R D and Marketing for new products Staying current on events in the chemical industry as well as Buckman needs and opportunities Reporting major events and changes to pertinent peers and managers on a regular basis Driving sourcing strategies that create value and drive product focus Contributing ideas and information to enable successful Strategic Sourcing Work Group Projects Interface with other areas within the Supply Chain for effective raw material cost and inventory management Assisting in developing and maintaining inventory strategies at the item and container level at Buckman and supplier sites for assigned spend categories Deployment of ERP tools to coordinate demand plan and order raw materials Analysis for early detection of slow moving materials and appropriate resolution Develop and refine analytical reports KPM reporting Perform necessary documentation Pursue continuous improvement throughout the supply chain Contribute to Red Tag and other waste reduction efforts Reduce operating costs by Negotiating lowest costs for purchased materials Focusing on best total value/total cost picture Working with Suppliers and pertinent Buckman departments to find logistics improvements Reducing the number of transactions for low dollar purchases Reducing inventory carrying costs Tracking cost savings and other cost-related wins Utilizing continuous improvement and best practices fundamentals to drive results Manage supplier relationships effectively Regularly meeting with supplier representatives Resolving disputes with suppliers and addressing supplier performance issues Arranging meetings for technical exchanges Recognizing suppliers for good performance Developing sourcing strategy that drives the right Buckman products Securing contingency sources for critical materials Expediting critical materials when lower level results not adequate for needs Driving global sourcing and product strategies with strategic suppliers Ensure the supply of quality materials and adherence to
