Job SummaryTheGlobal Director of Supply Chain Management provides strategicleadership and oversight of all supply chain functions, ensuringefficiency, cost optimization, and quality across globaloperations. This role involves leading the purchasing team,negotiating supplier contracts, managing inventory control, andmaintaining staffing levels to support operational needs.
Additionally, the director is responsible for enforcing qualitystandards within supply chain processes and driving procurementexcellence through supplier partnerships and competitive pricingstrategies. A key responsibility includes collaborating withexecutive leadership to facilitate global expansion efforts,ensuring the supply chain is scalable and adaptable to newmarkets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides strategic leadership for the Global Purchasing team,ensuring optimal stocking levels of critical supplies, fosteringsupplier relationships, and driving cost-effective procurementnegotiations. Maintains appropriate staffing levels to support supply chainoperations, identifying and addressing gaps in both processes andworkforce capacity. Ensures seamless communication across multiple organizationallevels regarding supply chain and inventory issues, securingnecessary approvals as required. Leads procurement negotiations, optimizing contract terms andsecuring the best pricing to support business objectives. Leverages ERP systems for data analysis and informeddecision-making, driving efficiencies in purchasing and inventorymanagement. Proactively identifies and implements process improvements toenhance operational effectiveness. Oversees regular reporting of purchasing and inventory data,ensuring accuracy and timely insights on a weekly and/or monthlybasis. Executes additional responsibilities as necessary to supportorganizational goals.
Education/Experience/Skills required: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university isrequired; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred. Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred. 5-8 years’ experience in a regulated environment required. Experience managing a leading a team. Proficiency in contracting and negotiation, with a track recordof securing favorable agreements and building strategicpartnerships. Experience interacting with supplier websites and utilizing ERPsystems. Proficiency utilizing ERP systems. Experience with MicrosoftNAV and Dynamics 365 Finance is a plus. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
