Teen Coordinator

Position Title:

Teen Coordinator –

Part-Time Hours:

Between 2:30pm-6:30 pm Monday through Friday during the school year (up to 25 hours per week), and up to 40 hours per week between 7:30am-5:30pm during June and July for the summer program. Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.

Hourly Pay Rate:

$15 – $19 per hour

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Teen Services Coordinator oversees the Teen Program at the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama and should have a passion for working with youth, with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging and supporting young people in a recreational setting. This role involves coordinating and managing all teen and pre-teen programs and activities, including college and career development programs, teen nights, and completing grant reports to ensure compliance with Boys & Girls Club of America policies and expectations. The Coordinator ensures proper supervision and control over members and volunteers assisting with teen programming, and orders and maintains necessary supplies, working closely with Unit Directors to support programs and ensure successful implementation. The Coordinator also collaborates with other program coordinators on creative arts, STEM, and athletics programs for teens. Additionally, this person is responsible for recruiting teens and collaborating with neighboring schools to promote the Club’s programs and services within the community, with the focus being to grow the teen program and increase attendance.

FUNDAMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS

Maintains close daily contact with Club staff, Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information. Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in resolving problems/issues. EDUCATION and

WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience:

1-year related work experience Must be willing to travel to Mobile as needed for meetings and training. Foley, Daphne, Spanish Fort residents strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual:

Normal acuity required daily for making color distinction, depth of sight, preparing/analyzing figures, computer use, and written records 8+ hours

Communication:

Able to express thoughts and ideas in an accurate and understandable manner through verbal and written format with internal and external contacts 8 hours per day

Movement:

Ability to maneuver within work site 6-8 hours per day

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing/Carrying:

Able to comfortably move and manipulate up to 20 lbs of weight up to 4-6 hours per day
