Program Director Job Summary:

This position will implement program plans, coordinate and maintain the 21st CCLC subgrant-funded program, which will serve district and community students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Develops and aligns the after-school program to achieve academic growth in core subject areas, ensuring subgrant objectives are met. Coordinate curriculum, instruction, and assessment, monitoring instructional delivery to targeted students. Consults with the Program Director, principals, and teachers to evaluate and adjust class offerings bases on student needs. Supervises site instructors and support staff, including hiring recommendations, workload assignments, scheduling and performance evaluations. Observes classes, monitors work performance, and provides training to maintain instructional quality. Organizes professional development opportunities for staff to enhance program effectiveness. Encourages student participation in enrichment activities that foster creativity, critical thinking and social-emotional development. Develop lesson plans, instructs students, maintain discipline and evaluates student progress in collaboration with the Program Director. Monitors student attendance, oversees attendance databases, collects rosters and tracks participation. Acts as a liaison with community partners, school staff, students and other stakeholders to ensure program success. Supports family engagement by preparing parent communications and participating in events and workshops. Provides support and guidance for external organizations contributing to program elements. Organizes project activities, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Assists ALSDE-designated projects evaluators by gathering student data, administering surveys, and supporting evaluation efforts. Provides and maintains support for summer programs to ensure continuity in student learning and enrichment. Performs additional duties as assigned to support the success of the program.

Qualifications:

(Required) Minimum of three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher and/or administrator. Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired:

Current Alabama Administrative certification Master’s degree or higher Experience in a supervisory position Ability to write & research grants. Work experience related to grant programs/proposals. Some experience managing personnel, students and providers of services.

ADA Requirements:

Ability to deal with stressful situations Possess analytical skills and a strategic mindset. Ability to deal with a wide variety of community people, students and service vendors.

Terms of Employment:

Salary and benefits will follow a compensation program recommended by the administration and approved by the Midfield City Board of Education. Funding is provided through the 21st Century Grant and will be reviewed annually. This non-tenured position will conclude when the grant funding ends.
