Executive Director The Huntsville Learning Center is a Christ-centered organization partnering with schools, families, and our community to help students with limited opportunities become spiritually aware lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and high school graduates through programs focusing on Biblical knowledge, mentorship, and academic support. Overview The Program Director will be responsible for the comprehensive management and tactical implementation of HLC’s educational programs. This includes supervising Classroom Coordinators; developing and enhancing curricula that catalyze academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional growth; managing enrollment for after-school and summer programs; analyzing student progress data and collaborating with classroom coordinators and volunteers to identify academic gaps and develop tailored learning paths to facilitate student improvement; and fostering relationships with community partners to strengthen program offerings while ensuring alignment with HLC’s mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, preferably with an advanced degree and expertise in curriculum development, policy implementation, or organizational leadership. Position Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management within educational or youth development settings
- Strong understanding of child development principles and inquiry-based learning methodologies
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience managing state and federal grants preferred
- Knowledge of assessment methods and tools to monitor student progress, gather feedback, and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum in achieving learning outcomes
- Skill in designing differentiated instruction to accommodate the diverse needs and abilities of students, including those with varying learning styles, backgrounds, and levels of readiness
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences, including digital content, interactive simulations, and online learning platforms
- Willingness to adapt the curriculum in response to changes in educational standards, student needs, and feedback from stakeholders while maintaining coherence and continuity
- Awareness of cultural diversity and sensitivity to the needs and perspectives of diverse student populations, with an emphasis on promoting inclusivity and equity in the curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of after-school and summer programs to ensure they meet students’ diverse needs
- Develop and implement program objectives and strategies in line with the organization’s mission and vision
- Ensure programs are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with HLC values
- Train and supervise Classroom Coordinators and program staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Research and provide professional development opportunities to enhance program staff competencies
- Evaluate program staff performance and develop strategies to motivate program staff and achieve goals
- Lead the creation and continuous improvement of curricula that integrate academic learning with spiritual and emotional development
- Incorporate inquiry-based learning approaches and evidence-based educational practices
- Align curriculum with core competencies and scaffold learning experiences across K-12 levels
- Create and integrate a formal student leadership development program into the curriculum
- Oversee the enrollment processes for after-school and summer programs, ensuring efficient and effective procedures
- Collaborate with administrative staff to manage student recruitment, registration, and retention strategies
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation
- Develop and implement assessment methods to monitor student progress and program effectiveness
- Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making and program improvements
- Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders and funding agencies, ensuring compliance with state and federal grant requirements
- Serve as a liaison between HLC and public and private community partners, fostering collaborative relationships
- Communicate regularly with families, schools, and community organizations to align program offerings with community needs
- Represent HLC at community events, meetings, and forums to promote programs and build partnerships
- Ensure all programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including child care licensing requirements
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to provide a safe environment for students and staff
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in child safety and program management
- Support the center’s goal of consistently helping students grow academically through effective curriculum development and assessment practices
