Job Description
The Capital Program Manager will support the leadership and execution of footprint transformation capital projects across North America, ensuring successful delivery through all phases. Reporting to the Capital Program Director, this role involves overseeing the lifecycle of projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards. As a Capital Program Manager, this individual will oversee management of a group of related projects in a coordinated manner, aligning resources and practices to achieve business objectives. This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while fostering innovation and creative solutions. The Capital Program Manager will also manage stakeholder relationships and resource allocation, providing leadership and strategic oversight to ensure projects align with the organization’s goals and are successfully executed. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities include, but no limited to:
Health & Safety Commitment:

Project Lifecycle Support:
Assist in managing and supporting the portfolio of footprint transformation capital projects across North America, helping ensure projects progress smoothly from initiation to completion.
Pre-feasibility & Feasibility Support:
Contribute to pre-feasibility and feasibility studies by gathering data, performing analyses, and helping integrate relevant information into the project planning process.
Capital Allocation & Approval Assistance:
Help support the capital allocation process and assist in the Internal Approval Committee (IAC) approval process, ensuring necessary financial resources are available for project execution.
Technical & Analytical Support:
Provide technical assistance and analytical support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the scope of the project is defined as the minimal technical solution, helping ensure the teams have the necessary resources and information to complete tasks effectively.
Team Collaboration & Accountability:
Work closely with project teams, ensuring collaboration and helping ensure tasks are completed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Risk Management Assistance:
Identify potential risks that may impact project timelines, budgets, or resources and assist in suggesting and driving countermeasures for projects that are off-track. Address issues related to schedule, budget, scope, and resources proactively.
Stakeholder Communication:
Support regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals, assisting in maintaining clear communication channels for project updates.
Budget/Schedule management:
Support, negotiate, and oversee management of budgets and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Reporting and Documentation:
Create detailed reports on the program’s progress and outcomes, maintaining transparency and supporting informed decision-making. Keep accurate records of all aspects of the program for historical reference and future analysis.
Monitoring progress:
Monitor program performance and initiate corrective action when necessary.
Cross-functional coordination:
Facilitate collaboration and communication across various departments and teams. Professional Experience and Qualifications 10+ years of experience in capital project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), or Program Management Professional (PgMP) are highly desirable. Capital improvement plan development and execution, and budgeting experience. Proven experience in large ($100M+) capital project management, ideally within a transformation or infrastructure environment. Strong technical and analytical skills to assess, guide, and optimize project execution. Experience in leading cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment, and driving projects to successful completion. Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects within scope, budget, and schedule constraints. Knowledge of capital allocation, approval processes, and financial management related to project execution. Strong understanding of risk management and the ability to proactively resolve issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in various project management tools and software to efficiently manage resources and timelines. Exceptional organizational abilities for resource allocation, time management, and prioritization. Excellent problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, and the capacity to manage conflicts. Dynamic, persistent, working autonomously and taking initiatives. Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees like MBA or master’s degree in project management or related field are highly regarded.
