This is a full-time office position (no hybrid/remote). Travel is required.
Essential Functions:
As the Culinary Specialist you will coordinate and oversee the CACFP and food service operations within the assigned locations to ensure program compliance, quality, and integrity. Knowledge of CACFP regulations, recordkeeping, and monitoring. Familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards and the integration of nutrition services in early childcare settings, food preparation, menu planning, procurement, and food safety in early childcare or institutional settings. Support the CACFP and Food Service Operations. and assist culinary specialists in other regions as needed to ensure consistent program quality and compliance across all services. Oversee and ensure full compliance with CACFP regulations, states health and sanitation regulations, and Head Start Performance Standards (HSPS), providing direct support to centers. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. ability to manage documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements for federally funded nutrition programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and regions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with data systems.
Education and Experience:
Accept ed : Bachelor’s in nutrition, Food Services, Public Health, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience with CACFP or a similar federal child nutrition program. Experience working in early childcare education, Head Start, or a nonprofit organization serving children and families.
Preferred :
Master’s in nutrition, Food Services, Public Health, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) or a comparable federally funded child nutrition program, such as the NSLP or SFSP. Experience working in early childcare education, Head Start, or a nonprofit organization serving children and families.
