Job Summary:

This position serves a dual role as both Federal Grants Assistant and 21st Century Director at Lowell, operating under the Director of Federal Grants. It is designed to support the grants department in achieving optimal performance through accurate data management, effective program implementation, and the cultivation of safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for both staff and youth. This role embraces trauma-informed principles such as safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. Must be available Monday thru Friday from 9:30am to 6:30pm.

Salary Range:

$44,000 – $46,500

Responsibilities:

Administrative Assistant (25% of role responsibilities) Assisting the Director of Federal Grants with overall record and program management, which includes: Data entry and recordkeeping: Responsible for entering and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for federally funded programs. This includes being mindful of confidentiality, respecting the sensitive nature of data, and ensuring that systems are user-friendly and accessible for all stakeholders.

Filing and document management:

Responsible for organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files to be easily accessible for reviews and audits, while ensuring document systems respect confidentiality and support smooth, non-stressful audit experiences.

Inventory control:

Receive and log items with a mindful and organized approach; communicate clearly and respectfully with staff to ensure inventory needs are met without stress or confusion.

Vendor relations:

Communicate with vendors in a calm, solution-focused manner to resolve issues efficiently and respectfully. Site inspections &

Corrective Action:

Offer technical assistance in a non-punitive, strengths-based way that supports growth, learning, and continuous improvement.

Approach all responsibilities with flexibility, empathy, and collaboration. 21 st Century Director – Lowell (75% of role responsibilities) The Program Director leads with compassion, overseeing program operations to ensure they are welcoming, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. This includes building staff capacity to recognize and respond to trauma, and creating an environment where all students feel safe, seen, and supported. Program Development and Implementation Establish and maintain program goals that promote psychological and physical safety, inclusion, and healing-centered engagement. Ensure site staff are trained in and can model trauma-informed practices. Maintain environments that are physically safe, emotionally supportive, and free from re-traumatization. Align program objectives with organizational goals and a trauma-informed mission. Evaluate program outcomes with a strengths-based lens, ensuring that programs meet youth needs, affirm diverse identities, and foster resilience. Gather outcome data collaboratively, honoring the voices and lived experiences of youth and families. Supervision Maintain trauma-informed documentation practices and reflect a culture of learning and growth rather than compliance alone. Promote a supportive supervision model, providing regular feedback that uplifts and guides staff development. Ensure staff meetings create space for reflection, voice, and shared problem-solving. Marketing and Public Relations Communicate about programs in ways that are empowering, inclusive, and affirm the strengths of youth, families, and staff. Ensure that messaging reflects equity, access, and hope.

Engage families, schools, and community partners with empathy and cultural humility, recognizing the importance of trust and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

May drive Club vehicle(s) periodically, ensuring youth safety and emotional well-being during transit. Responsible for maintaining a welcoming and organized pantry area that respects community dignity. May assist with documentation for other federal grants using trauma-informed processes. Other responsibilities as assigned, approached with flexibility and care.

Experience:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:

5-7 years in complex project management and staff supervision.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

High energy and emotionally resilient. Must be able to manage multiple responsibilities with calm, flexibility, and a trauma-sensitive approach. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly and empathetically share information and coordinate projects.
