ABOUT VIRTUAL ARKANSAS
Virtual Arkansas’s (VA) mission is to equip, engage, and empower students through unique digital opportunities. As the State of Arkansas’s Virtual School (SVS), we partner with local schools to provide course opportunities to students that might not otherwise be available with local resources. Virtual Arkansas is not an online school or a diploma-granting institution but serves as a resource for supplementing the education of local students. Virtual Arkansas’s program is implemented through a partnership between the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Education Service Cooperatives.
JOB SUMMARY
Virtual Arkansas, as a partner to Arkansas Schools, provides supplemental programming to students with a wide range of learning needs. The position is responsible for the overall operations of the Concurrent Credit Campus and must coordinate with our University partner(s) and Virtual Arkansas leadership. The Concurrent Credit Principal is responsible for overseeing and facilitating concurrent/college credit for high school students from partner districts, managing partnerships with higher education institutions, ensuring program alignment with state standards, and supporting student success. Virtual Arkansas is a high-tempo organization that changes and adapts rapidly to emerging practices and technologies. Applicants should feel comfortable operating in this working environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Concurrent Credit Principal will evaluate all Concurrent Credit Full Time and Adjunct Teachers, all CTE teachers, and the Concurrent Credit administrative assistant, and any other Core teachers to fill an adequate supervisory load.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic direction for the Concurrent Credit Campus
Oversee the enrollment process for the Concurrent Credit Campus and other Concurrent Credit/College Credit courses
Ensure compliance with state education requirements and higher education partner policies and MOU’s
Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and stakeholder feedback, implementing improvements as necessary
Oversee budget management and resource allocation related to the concurrent credit programming
Serve as an advocate and spokesperson for concurrent credit opportunities
Provide oversight of the Concurrent Credit campus, in collaboration with Virtual Arkansas leadership and University partner(s)
Cooperate and collaborate with the CTE Campus Director, Virtual Arkansas faculty and staff, and partner district staff to support the needs of all students
Monitor the professional development of the teaching staff and ensure program and state professional development requirements are met Monitor program policies and make recommendations for policy changes
Coordinate with teachers and local schools to enforce discipline policies and standards
Monitor the performance of teachers and evaluate assigned staff utilizing the program-wide evaluation system
Monitor student achievement and develop data-driven strategies and plans for continuous improvement
Work as a team with the various Virtual Arkansas departments and personnel to develop and implement overall student growth, engagement, and success strategies, programs, and initiatives
Assist in planning for and periodically present at Virtual Arkansas informational sessions
Present at national and state conferences as appropriate
Make regular site visits to partner schools to provide administrative, facilitator, and student support
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree or above; required
Arkansas building-level administrator license; required
Recent administrative experience; preferred Virtual program leadership experience; preferred
Previous Concurrent Credit Teaching experience; preferred

SALARY / BENEFITS INFORMATION
Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications and competitive with local principal salaries

OTHER INFORMATION
This position will be hired through the Southeast Education Service Cooperative. The Principal will have an A/B (50% ESC office/50% home office) if possible or an A/B/C office schedule if not possible due to lack of office space. Attend scheduled and required in-person meetings with the understanding that these required meetings do not necessarily qualify for travel reimbursement.
