Day Program Staff 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Groton, CT 06340 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Direct Support Staff to join our team. You will be part of a vibrant day program designed to engage and support adults through a range of fun and interactive activities. Your role is to empower participants by providing direct assistance, fostering independence, and encouraging positive social interactions in a dynamic, lively environment. Available Positions •Contact us to schedule an interview to further discuss open positions Key Responsibilities Daily support and engagement through activities, goal achievements, social interactions, skill-building, and recreational activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and learning. Facilitate engaging lessons that encourage participation and enhance learning outcomes. These could be scheduled or spontaneous lessons on topics such as – arts and crafts, games, physical exercise, cooking, community outings, and personal growth exercises. Charting and recording individual’s growth and data. This is done through Therap. Cater to the unique needs of each individual by providing hands-on assistance in daily tasks, communication support, and emotional encouragement. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve program effectiveness. Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive atmosphere by following safety protocols, monitoring participant well-being, and responding to challenges with patience and professionalism.

Ideal Candidates Attributes:

Enthusiastic, adaptable, patient with a genuine passion for supporting young adults. Skilled at building trust and connecting with individuals on a personal level. Collaborative team player who thrives on an active, varied environment. Previous , youth program, or special education setting is a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to be successful and employees will be coached on this skill throughout their employment. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants is a must. Patience and adaptability in a diverse learning environment.
