Job Description:
Program Coordination
Collaborate with the program Director to coordinate programming for the UF Student Therapeutic Horticulture (TH) Program. Assist with project implementation and management, ensuring program delivery is focused on emphasizing decreasing stress and mental fatigue, boosting self-esteem and self-efficacy, and providing community, creativity, and optimism. Responsible for maintaining databases and project management timelines, scheduling and participating in meetings with project team personnel and stakeholders and providing action recommendations to the project. Assist the Director with writing and editing content for program proposals, research grants, publications, and other program activities.
Greenhouse & Plant Care Management
Coordinate and supervise the preparation, set up, maintenance, and clean-up of the greenhouse and Wilmot Botanical Gardens, ensuring all equipment and materials are properly used and stored. Oversees nutrient analysis of plant, soil, and water samples, preparing standards and reagents for tests, ensuring accuracy and precision in the data collection process. Required to drive to various garden and greenhouse locations. Implements program procedures regarding routine preventative maintenance of greenhouse and laboratory spaces, addressing any issues promptly. Maintain inventory of supplies in the greenhouse and laboratory, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
Student Recruitment & Community Outreach
Coordinate with UF’s Counseling & Wellness Center, to help identify and develop opportunities to promote the UFSTH Program and manage counselor and student recruitment. Additionally, identify resources and promote the Therapeutic Horticulture and Horticultural Therapy programs to the greater Gainesville community.
Interdepartmental Relations
Act as the liaison for the Therapeutic Horticulture program, coordinating trials and meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure streamlined communication and effective project execution. Identify resources and develop relationships with other UF programs, departments, and stakeholders to create additional interdisciplinary nature-based opportunities.
Record Maintenance Maintain daily records and document program output and progress toward program objectives in order to make programmatic recommendations to ensure attainment of program deliverables.

Preferred:
Previous experience with therapeutic horticulture programs
Coursework in horticultural therapy
Professional registration with the American Horticultural Therapy Association
