Duties The Deputy Manager, Explorion Ground Systems Program is responsible for: The development, verificion and validion, activion, and sustaining engineering of complex and highly integred ground systems to support spacecraft and/or launch vehicle processing operions. Ground systems may include but not limited to launch pads, assembly facilities, recovery operions, launch control center, launch escape system, etc. Providing high-level executive leadership and assisting in the overall direction and management of the EGS Program systems processing. Ensuring the organizion’s employees are effectively developed and deployed to provide the skills and abilities to support development and operions KSC. Collaboring with the PM to develop long-range plans, mission stregies, and objectives consistent with NASA’s deep space explorion goals. Providing the executive leadership to manage multiple technical disciplines to ensure the success of assigned programs. Representing the PM on planning, policy development and implemention, and issues and problem resolution in assigned areas of responsibility. Promoting and establishing safety and health initiives to ensure safety remains the primary objective of the organizion. Ensuring th relevant policies, decisions, and positions are communiced and th issues reling to or impacting the Center, its mission, and its capabilities are considered and acted upon. Serving as the PM’s primary liaison KSC, coordining with internal and external stakeholders-including NASA Headquarters, federal agencies, Congress, industry, and academia-and leading stregic planning, policy implemention, and issue resolution within assigned areas. Promoting the goals, objectives, and accomplishments of NASA and KSC through a community outreach program th utilizes the unique skills and abilities of the organizion’s resources. Requirements Conditions of Employment The individual selected required to file an ‘Executive Branch Personnel Financial Disclosure Report’ (OGE-278) in accordance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. Initial Senior Executive Service (SES) Career appointee is subject to a one-year probionary period. Successful completion of a background investigion commensure with the risk and sensitivity level of the position. Successful completion of pre-employment and random drug testing may be required. Qualificions As a basic requirement for entry into the Senior Executive Service (SES), you must clearly articule and describe within your two (2) page resume evidence of progressively responsible supervisory, managerial, or professional experience which involved management of a program or organizion of significant scope and complexity, normally obtained over several years by serving in positions the GS-15 level or equivalent.
