This position is located in Williams County, OH. The Program Assistant will assist with programmatic efforts for 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources (Ag/NR), and Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) in Williams County.
Duties include assisting the 4-H Educator and other staff with 4-H enrollment, volunteer recruitment, data entry and management, record keeping, and organization/maintenance of files. The Program Assistant will also assist with delivering school and community-based educational programs and activities for youth based on the community needs and 4-H model.
The Program Assistant will assist the Ag/NR Educator with program planning, research, and delivery. Duties include assisting the Ag/NR Educator with maintaining volunteer files, data entry and management, record keeping, organization/maintenance of files, and collecting research data when requested. The Program Assistant will also assist with delivering programming and research in agriculture and natural resources education programs and activities based on community needs related to Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The Program Assistant will assist the FCS Educator with program planning, enrollment, data entry and management, record keeping, and organization/maintenance of files. The Program Assistant will also assist with delivering educational programs and activities based on community needs.
The Program Assistant will work with the 4-H Educator, Ag/NR Educator, FCS Educator, and Office Associate to develop printed and digital media/flyers including web pages, blog sites, social media, newsletters, handouts, brochures, event programs, articles, evaluation, and registration data including the use of all Microsoft Office applications and/or other software to develop those items in accordance with OSU policy. This position will also assist Educators in creating, editing, and publishing educational videos. The Program Assistant will participate as an Ohio State University Extension team member in Williams County by participating in staff meetings, stewardship model, and engaging in professional development opportunities, and provide general other duties as assigned. This position will work collaboratively with Extension personnel to maintain a positive public image and demonstrate the mission of the land grant university. This position will work across all work areas where duties include delivering a high level of customer service and team collaboration with a positive attitude, professionalism, and clear communication. The Program Assistant will be required to maintain all relevant official office records in accordance with OSU policy.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
The pay range for this profile is $16.49-$21.69/hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
