Java Game Haus Café is a family-owned board game store and café dedicated to building community through games, creativity, and fun. We’re expanding our programming to better serve kids and families with engaging, imaginative activities like roleplaying game adventures, painting classes, and seasonal events.

Job Summary:

We’re looking for a creative, organized, and kid-friendly Youth Program Coordinator to design and lead kids’ programming at Java Game Haus Café. You’ll help bring stories to life through tabletop RPGs, introduce kids to the world of miniatures and painting, and help plan fun, safe, and memorable events like summer programs, game days, and themed workshops. This position could be seasonal and conducive to a teacher or student’s schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate regular youth activities, including RPG campaigns, painting classes, craft workshops, Pokemon and/or Lorcana events, and themed events Serve as Game Master (GM) or facilitator for beginner-friendly RPG sessions (D&D or similar systems) Develop curriculum or session plans that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and fun Coordinate summer camps or short-term programs, including schedules and registration Communicate with parents/guardians about events, expectations, and safety guidelines Collaborate with the store team to promote events and ensure materials are stocked and ready Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants

Qualifications:

Experience working with children or youth in a structured environment (education, camps, after-school programs, etc.) Knowledge of tabletop RPGs (especially kid-friendly or beginner systems like D&D 5e, No Thank You Evil, or similar) Excellent communication, creativity, and organizational skills Comfortable leading groups and managing behavior in a fun, respectful way Must be dependable and able to work some evenings or weekends CPR/First Aid certification and background check will be required

Bonus Skills:

Pokemon professor preferred Miniature painting or art instruction experience
