Responsibilities:
Programmatic & Academic Leadership
Serves as the key programmatic leader on campus in the defined area and provides programmatic expertise for students, staff and faculty
ssists Academic Deans, National Coordinators, and programmatic faculty in planning, implementing and evaluating the curricula
Actively represents the University to students, professional organizations, partners, and other relevant constituencies within the communities
Monitors and reports programmatic metrics such as external and internal learning outcomes, enrollment and retention, and graduate placement rates
Participates in strategic planning and implementation of programmatic activities and events, especially as related to academic matters; reviews and supports academic policies
Assists School Dean with programmatic professional development for faculty, including programmatic new faculty orientation/onboarding
Supports Academic Deans in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of programmatic faculty members
Attends Teaching Development and Development in Discipline programs in addition to maintaining required professional credentials
Attends monthly Program Coordinator team meetings hosted by the National Program Coordinator
Schedules quarterly meetings with Academic Deans and Campus Leadership to discuss the overall health of the program and inform them of any upcoming changes
Hosts two Advisory Board meetings each year (spring and fall). Collects, prioritizes, and communicates feedback and meeting minutes to both the Academic Dean and National Program Coordinator on curriculum and teaching practices to ensure accurate and up-to-date practices within the field
Supports the Academic Dean and Campus Director with faculty recruiting and participate in the interview process if requested
Participates in meetings as designated by the Campus Director, Academic Dean, and the University
Participates in community and professional events as designated by the Academic Dean
Establishes regular communication with Career Services, Admissions, and Student Advisors to answer programmatic questions, discuss retention and placement outcomes, and discuss potential, current, graduate students and maintain documentation of these meetings
Prepares various reports and submit them to the National Program Coordinator and or Academic Dean
Prepares and assists students for the applicable credentialing exam if applicable
Reviews curriculum for areas of improvement and discuss thoughts and ideas with the National Program Coordinator
Orders and reconciles supply orders and maintain inventory of the lab and storage areas, if applicable
Maintains all student programmatic files and ensure proper documentation is collected
Reviews, maintains, and enforces the immunization programmatic policy requirements
Participates in the program evaluation process
Supports attainment of programmatic start, retention, and placement goals
Participates in licensing and accreditation process
Attends University functions (Community involvement activities, graduation ceremonies, and various campus-based activities
Builds community relationships to support programmatic outcomes
Maintains records of student contacts
Submits weekly updated programmatic BFA report to National Program Coordinator and Academic Dean
Provides safe learning environment by maintaining the requirements of the Rasmussen Safety Manual and maintaining lab equipment, if applicable
Maintains awareness of course programs, relationships between programs, and University policies and procedures
Assists students with professional placement
Programmatic & Academic Ownership
Provides academic advising and counseling to students
Responds in a timely and appropriate manner to all student, faculty, and leadership requests for information and/or guidance
Supports University, community, and national partnerships that foster educational goals and programmatic outcomes
Develops networks, collaborations, and partnerships to enhance the University’s influence within the academic community
Collaborates with faculty and student support personnel (i.e. Career Services, Admissions, Student Affairs, Student Finance) to assure delivery of superior student service
Provides and promotes available resources for student success
Provides individual or group tutoring, and/or open lab sessions to assist students requiring or requesting additional assistance
Establishes and continues regular quarterly communication with students
Plans and engages students in programmatic events that may be available on campus or within the community
Externship, Practicum, and Professional Practice Experience Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Program Coordinators may vary depending on the program and whether an Externship Coordinator is in place.
Identifies, develops, obtains affiliation agreements, and maintains sites for externships, practicums and professional practice experiences in collaboration with the Externship Coordinator (if applicable)
Collaborates with Externship Coordinator (if applicable) in placement at or assigning students to externship sites
Facilitates student programmatic externship orientation and site orientation/training
Conducts follow-up visits at a minimum of one visit per quarter during the student clinical practicum experience (if programmatically required)
Facilitates externship, practicum, or professional practice experience course, including collecting required documentation for student programmatic files
Addresses and manages student disciplinary/conduct issues at the clinical practicum experience
FULL-TIME FACULTY-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching Workload
Program Coordinators will teach 3 to 4 work units (approximately 15-25 contact hours)

Pre-term Start
Review and complete course syllabus in the online courses shell or COG
Review course learning objectives, course schedule, lesson content, and gradebook
Complete first two weeks of gradebook setup in residential COG shell, if applicable
Welcome students using welcome announcement, icebreaker, and student lounge postings
Set up calendar and/or syllabus with office hours, live classroom sessions, assignments, and deadlines
Participation Throughout Quarter
Participate in online course shell
Online participation includes 5 of 7 days per week (with no consecutive days missed)
FLEX50 participation includes 5 of 7 days per week (with no consecutive days missed)
COG participation includes weekly activity, grade postings
Grading with feedback provided within the online course shell
Contribute to discussion forums (Online/FLEX)
Create written announcements weekly
Hold Live Classroom sessions required of course taught (length and frequency of sessions determined by modality)
Every class must have one or more assignments graded by the end of the second week of the course
All student work must be graded, with formative feedback, and the grades entered into the gradebook within 5 days of the assignment due date
Zeroes must be entered for any student who has not turned in an assignment
By the end of each week, the gradebook must be updated with all outstanding student work
All student email, including both Course Mail and regular email, and student phone calls must be responded to within 48 hours
Specific student outreach, beyond in-course communication, must be logged in SalesForce under Individual Student Activity History or as an eAlert to campuses
Faculty will offer one student support hour per week for each prep/work unit taught, for a maximum of 5 hours per week
Program Coordinator to facilitate two programmatic certification exam study sessions per quarter/ conduct Capstone review twice a year
Students who miss a residential class or the due date for a residential assignment must be contacted within 24 hours
Students in online courses who miss an assignment(s) must be contacted with 24 hours of the close of the module/week
Post-term
A final course grade for all students must be entered in the final grade category in the gradebook by end-of-day Monday of Week 12 of the quarter
All incompletes/grade changes must be resolved in accordance with the policy
Faculty should continue to monitor course mail, the employee University email, and voicemail to manage any post-term student questions or concerns
Student Outreach and Support
Of the maximum 5 student support hours per week, faculty will offer two of those student support hours in a public forum
At least 2 hours must be in a forum that is publicly available to all students such as the Learning Center, online tutoring platform or other public forums
Weekly Student Support hours should be clearly stated on course syllabus and any changes should be documented in the course

Service to
University & Community:
Campus Presence, Meetings and Community Events
All faculty will submit a quarterly schedule to his/her Dean listing all contact information and days/hours on campus, days/hours scheduled for student support (with location), days/hours committed for classroom teaching.
All faculty are responsible for creating a physical and/or virtual presence in support of campus and online students
Faculty will attend all campus meetings, faculty team meetings, and other meetings as designated by the Dean
Faculty will attend meetings held by School Dean as needed
Faculty will participate in Committees and campus events as designated by the Dean
Faculty will attend Graduation ceremonies
Faculty will attend community events held off campus as designated by the Dean
Reporting Relationships:
The Program Coordinator reports to the Academic Dean and collaborates with the applicable National Program Coordinators.
Requirements:
The Program Coordinator must have minimum of five (5) years current experience in the operating room in the scrub role or five (5) years of current experience as an instructor of surgical technology or a combination of both within the last 10 years
An Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or Surgical Nursing is required; Bachelor’s preferred.
Must also possess and maintain a current AST (CST) certification, including completion of 80 hours of continuing education every 4 years
Teaching experience preferred (Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of study)
Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
Faculty will need regular access to a computer with the following system requirements
