Instructor (Non-profit) – Apply Today! The Instructor will be responsible for directing the daily operations of the Independent Study Program while instructing and managing students in the program. Duties will include keeping track of students’ school progress through Florida Virtual School (FLVS), assisting with school work help, maintaining daily school schedule, parent relations, discipline and reporting and volunteer support. This role reports to the Program Manager.
Pay/Compensation/Details:
$50,000.00/yr.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, marketing or equivalent preferred Certified Teacher – Middle School through High School level preferred. Experience with teaching and mentoring youth who are at-risk of dropping out, performing below grade level, behaviorally challenging, struggling with IEPs or have attention issues and/or trauma. Ability to motivate and relate to students needing alternative education. Strong organizational and administrative skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to multitask with limited guidance or supervision. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with all people, especially youth and parents who may be under-resourced. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey a vision of the client’s strategic future to parents, volunteers and donors. A strong work ethic and a friendly demeanor Technical ability and experience with school databases especially School District of IRC, grade books, Google Suite, Windows 365 and Salesforce preferred. Plan, organize, coordinate, and provide direct oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Independent Study Program. Serve as the primary instructor of 10-15 students in all courses while managing a rotating schedule of supporting volunteers for the program. Provide leadership, advice and insight to management in the development of program goals, schedules, activities, growth, including lead chaperone for retreats and outings. Prepare for daily academic sessions by getting materials ready or setting up equipment/computers. Academic reporting. Developing and generating weekly/quarterly/semester/annual grades reports. Create opportunities for social and emotional growth. Serve as lead for student retreats. Drive 15-passenger van for student outings. Manage Parent Relations & Involvement. Attend staff meetings and present to the Board of Directions and funders as needed. Manage the communication of outcomes to Fundraising and Development Team at CM Manage student food and snacks.
