Job Description

Program Coordinator Assistant Bonita Senior Center 25999 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 Job Summary The Bonita Senior Center is a focal point of Bonita Springs for programs designed for older adults. Our mission is dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for adults 50 and better through quality programs and services. Center programs include education, health screenings, exercise and wellness programs, travel, social activities, and computer training. The Program Coordinator Assistant plays a pivotal role in the successful implementation of programs and services offered to our local seniors. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively lead various initiatives, supervise and support programs, and interact with members. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and an ability to multi-task and problem solve, as well as a compassion for our senior community.

Duties:

Must be proficient in: Excel, Word, Power Point. General technology experience required. Experience in My Active Center software a plus. Answer phones and greet members and guests. Check phone messages, return calls, and check Center emails. Introduce program speakers when needed and set up technology. Process membership forms and assign key fobs to new members. Confirm monthly programs and speakers and update monthly calendar/flyer. Send out confirmation emails to speakers and event sponsors. Proof flyers and calendars. Send thank you notes to speakers and sponsors. Proof Monday program announcement before email distribution. Handle checks/cash from members for membership and programs. Improve systems for emails, promotions, membership, program scheduling, and implement new ideas for programs and events. Address the needs of walk-in seniors. Room set-up and tear down for programs, when needed. Help recruit volunteers for events. Be available for Interagency meetings, Concert in the Park events, and other local events as needed. Verify that program instructor’s liability insurance is up to date. Compare website and My Active Center against monthly flyer to make sure information is correct. Make nametags for new members Send Photos and video to website to post

Qualifications:

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively to achieve program objectives. This role is essential for driving our mission forward by ensuring that our programs are effectively coordinated and managed.
