Personal Safety Program Coordinator General Statement of Duties:

Scheduling and conducting program presentations, review and update instructional materials, responsible for Program Outcome Measures, training and documentation, prepare/copy/distribute Parent Letters to the schools in a timely manner. Essential Functions of the

Job:
  • Scheduling and conducting program presentations
  • Review and update instructional materials for use in presentations and submit for approval
  • Maintain knowledge of current events for topics of interest to keep program current
  • Responsible for Program Outcome Measures training and documentation
  • Ordering supplies necessary for program operation by submitting purchase orders in a timely manner
  • Attend community-based council/committee meetings as required by grant, such as: MAEYC, Safe Kids Coalition, Program Outcome Measures and Children’s Summit
  • Development of the grant at the time of renewal
  • Remain current on child abuse and neglect literature
  • Participate in staff development and in-service training
  • Provide sexual abuse prevention education for children ages 3-17
  • Provide sexual abuse prevention education for caretakers as needed, serve as a professional resource, and provide support and referral services as needed Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with outside agencies.
  • Ability to stay in touch with the goals of MCS when making decisions.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize initiative, ability to be organized and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to speak and teach children ages 3-17 in classroom or assembly style setting.
  • Ability to maintain classroom management. Educational/Experience
  • Must have a degree in child development, social work, education, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Continuing education to maintain awareness of child abuse/neglect issues.
  • Certification when applicable.

Working Conditions Work is primarily conducted at the offices of Manatee Children’s Services, schools, and community sites Physical Requirements Requires individual to perform a broad range of activities. Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination. Requires corrected vision, speech, and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks.
