Job Description

Outreach & Volunteer Program Coordinator Mary’s Home of the Treasure Coast Stuart, FL 34996 We are seeking anOutreach and Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships as well as well as identifying volunteers through community outreach activities. This position develops sponsorship/business arrangements and relationships with non-profit agencies, businesses, individuals, schools and other organizations interested in supporting the mission of Mary’s Home.

Outreach:

  • Attend community breakfasts, meetings, and events to promote awareness of Mary’s Home and share information about our programs with community leaders, chamber groups, service organizations, congregations, media, and the general public
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with both new and existing collaborative partners
  • Network with other agencies to stay informed about services and resources
  • Develop and implement an annual outreach plan and develop print materials, presentations and displays to be used in partner recruitment and community outreach efforts
  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities
  • Take photos during outreach events
  • Manage the production of a quarterly newsletter using design software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, or Microsoft Publisher
  • Identify organizations and manage logistics for weekend Baby Bottle Drives
  • Assist Operations and Events Manager with event logistics as needed
Volunteer Program:

40%

  • Recruit, screen, interview, select and train volunteers
  • Develop, maintain and update volunteer job descriptions
  • Conduct background screenings and reference checks. Maintain driving records as needed to comply with automobile policy
  • Develop and maintain schedules for volunteer opportunities based on internal needs identified by the staff (i.e., babysitters, back-up drivers, front desk, childcare and events). Maintain a skills database of volunteers Outreach & Volunteer Program Coordinator – Job Description (cont’d.)
  • Schedule program speakers as requested by the Resident Program Director
  • Host/attend volunteer recruitment events within the community to attract qualified volunteers
  • Coordinate holiday donations with referrals from the community – determine resident gift needs, coordinate delivery dates/times, completion and mailing of thank you cards for gift donations from residents
  • Complete and maintain monthly volunteer hour log reporting hours to United Way
  • Schedule and facilitate annual volunteer appreciation breakfasts/luncheons
Qualifications :
  • High School Diploma required
  • Must have 2 to 3 years of community outreach and volunteer programs experience in a not-for-profit organization
  • Established community relationships within Martin County and familiarity with neighboring counties preferred Willing and able to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings and weekends, to accommodate community events
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; experience in making formal presentations and the ability to influence and engage a wide range of local businesses and non-profits to build long-term relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft365 and internet usage
  • Knowledge in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, or Microsoft Publisher
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct self in a calm, compassionate and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff, volunteers, donors, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities
  • Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and satisfactory driving record
  • Desire to work in a faith-based environment and be dedicated to the Mary’s Home mission
