Overtown Youth Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Program Coordinator to join our team. This role is perfect for an individual who is committed to empowering youth and families by ensuring the successful implementation and management of key program components. The Program Coordinator will cultivate a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment, while also providing essential case coordination services and acting as a liaison with partner schools.

What you would do:

Support Program Team in active recruitment for elementary school students based on assigned school site(s)/teams. Develop and maintain a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment conducive to student growth and development. Coordinate and implement program activities and special projects. Chaperone after-school outings and exposure trips with students. Ensure timely submission of attendance and other required data. Function as a liaison with partner schools, fostering positive relationships and communication and conducting in-school rotations at least 4 days per week during the school year. Ensure all students with grades below a C in any core subject are connected with resources to access to additional academic support services based on their needs (e.g., tutoring, testing preparation supports, assessment for IEP, etc.). Ensure at least 85% of students meeting program attendance requirements and submit student attendance daily to the Data Department. Document service activities through case notes, completion of surveys and assessments, individualized success plans for each student, and other required documentation. Maintain a safe environment at all times, adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Provide comprehensive case coordination services, including information, planning, referrals, and linkages for students and families. Develop and maintain accurate student files, including assessments, Individual Success Plans, and progress notes, according to OYC standards. Coordinate services with other professionals and paraprofessionals, including OYC staff. Develop and maintain a strong, communicative relationship with OYC Program Coordinators, school teachers, school personnel and CAP advisors. Coordinate services with other professionals and paraprofessionals, inclusive of OYC staff. Actively participate in weekly case staffing/team meetings.

Requirements:

Who we’re looking for: At least 3 to 5 years of experience in youth programs. High school diploma required; additional qualifications or certifications a plus. Completion of 45 hours of DCF Childcare certification within 6 months of employment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) are necessary. A positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong ability to adapt to changing needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass drug screening and Level 2 background check. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
