By creating a safe and transparent environment, families come together to process, heal, and thrive.
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Development Coach/ Administrator with a deep understanding of incarceration, mental health, and developing life skills. The Personal Development Coach is pivotal to our structured 12-16 week program for previously incarcerated parents, conducting bi-weekly 1-on-1 virtual and in-person coaching sessions and our 300 Heroes 8-week program. This individual will serve as a dedicated advocate, promoting personal safety, self-care, and self-help, while also guiding participants in developing healthy boundaries and adaptive skills. The ideal candidate will hold certification or training in life coaching, peer support, counseling, or a related field. This person is passionate about having a positive impact on people’s lives.
Responsibilities:
Conduct structured and scheduled one-to-one sessions spanning 12-16 weeks for previously incarcerated parents. Conduct prompt follow-up from the one-to-one coaching sessions and maintain accurate records of participant interactions. Advocate for participants, fostering the development of natural supports. Promote personal development through the application of skills such as self-care, healthy boundaries, and mindfulness techniques. Guide participants to discover their truths and empower self-discovery. Focus on strengthening self-efficacy, building self-esteem, and reinforcing family values throughout the coaching journey. Collaborate with program staff to assess participant needs and tailor coaching strategies accordingly. Administrator:
Maintain organized digital filing systems (program records, grant files, contracts, etc.) Track and manage schedules for meetings, workshops, and events Respond to general inquiries via email, phone, and website forms Board & Meeting Support Schedule and prepare for board meetings (agendas, Zoom links, reminders) Take meeting minutes and distribute post-meeting recaps Track board member tasks, attendance, and commitments Program Support Assist with coordination of Healing Hearts , 300 Heroes , and in-prison workshops (e.g. scheduling, outreach, tracking attendance) Prepare participant materials (intake forms, feedback surveys, handouts) Support communication between caregivers, facilitators, and program staff
Qualifications:
Direct or indirect lived experience with incarceration or similar trauma and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with a history of incarceration. Commitment to social justice and advocating for marginalized communities, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness. Certification or training in life coaching, peer support, counseling, or a related field is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to maintain a non-judgmental and empathetic approach in all interactions. Empathy and a non-judgmental approach in supporting program participants. Proficiency in conducting structured 1-on-1 coaching sessions. Familiarity with mindfulness techniques and the ability to provide tools for accessing community resources. Organized and strong follow-through Must have a laptop Familiar with CRM systems, marketing platforms such as FB, Mailchimp and Canva Ability to conduct online research This is a part-time position (15-25 hours a week) position that reports to the Executive Director and will work in a hybrid virtual and in-person environment.
