Position Summary:

The Assistant Director will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services at Parkinson Place. This individual will also manage the day-to-day operations related to member services, ensuring an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and passionate about serving the Parkinson’s community.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management Develop, schedule, and oversee a comprehensive calendar of in-person and virtual programs, including exercise classes, support groups, educational workshops, and social events. Manage engagement of instructors, speakers, and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery. Monitor program participation and gather feedback to assess effectiveness and member satisfaction. Promote programs and events across all communication platforms. Stay current on trends and research related to Parkinson’s disease and incorporate best practices into programming. Member Engagement and Services Foster relationships with new and existing members to support engagement and retention. Plan and facilitate member onboarding, tours, and orientation sessions. Address member concerns and needs with empathy and professionalism. Fundraising & Sponsor Relations Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate and individual sponsors. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, donations and partnerships. Community Engagement & Advocacy Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization in the community and with the media. Build partnerships with community groups, healthcare organizations, and other stakeholders to amplify the organization’s impact. Operations & Administration Oversee daily operations of the center, including managing facility usage and ensuring program spaces are prepared. Contribute to organizational events such as fundraising activities, awareness campaigns, and outreach events. Supervise interns, as needed.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in program coordination, member services, or nonprofit administration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, welcoming demeanor. Strong organizational and time-management abilities; able to manage multiple priorities. Experience working with older adults or individuals with chronic health conditions is a plus.
