We are seeking a dynamic, creative professional to lead a 3 year grant-funded initiative designed to support children and their caregivers in developing key character strengths—including curiosity, compassion, and perseverance—that contribute to success in both school and life. This full-time, 3 year position is dedicated entirely to the initiative and involves developing engaging curriculum and resource materials, facilitating interactive workshops that blend play and learning, and collaborating across Children’s Museum of Atlanta teams to ensure effective project implementation in the museum and throughout the community. The right person for this position must support the museum’s mission and values, work well collaboratively, view things through the eyes of a child and understand and respect the learn through play philosophy. The annualized salary is $57k-$60k

DOE Responsibilities:

Program & Guest facing responsibilities: Create and delivers workshops for adult caregivers and children in and outside of the museum Coordinate logistics, scheduling, supplies for the workshops Collaborates with the Assistant Director of School and Outreach Programs in logistics, scheduling, supplies and communications with outreach partners.

Training:

Design comprehensive training materials and curricula aligned with grant objectives and learning outcomes Trains outreach team members and GX team members on Character Workshop content and support Train and provide quality assurance for workshop facilitators

Website Curriculum:

Writes and collaborates with the marketing team to create web content for the Character hub website for

CMA Evaluation:

Coordinates and collaborates with the external evaluation team on assessment of exhibit and program-based activities. Conducts evaluation activities as needed

Program Management:

Collaborate with Guest Experience, Public Programs, and School and Outreach programs on character.org training and grant-related activities Assists Assistant Director of School and Outreach Programs with evaluation and training of full time Museum Educators and part time School and Outreach Educators on character education Supports Assistant Director of School and Outreach programs in building and maintaining relationships with Outreach partners. Maintain tracking systems for workshop attendance, participation metrics, and outcomes Prepare and submit regular progress reports for the grant for organizational leadership Monitor grant budget related to position and maintain appropriate financial documentations Develop sustainability plans for program continuation beyond the grant period

Exhibit-Based:

Assists Director of Exhibit & Education and Manager of Exhibits as needed on logistics of new Character-based exhibition in Tools for Solutions Collaborates with the Manager of Exhibits and exhibit designers on creation of Character-related labels and scavenger hunt inside the museum

Ability to work with adults and children in an experiential learning environment Exceptional customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Database management, Excel Knowledge of how to interact with children and adults Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Handle emergency situations with professionalism and competence Work in multifaceted, team-oriented environment Ability to use cultural competence with experience serving diverse populations and communities. Strong understanding of museum and nonprofit infrastructure and management environment Experience in the areas of project and program planning management

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Education, Science or Arts. 1-2 years experience informal learning environment Two years of customer service experience Available to occasionally work weekends when needed Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
