https://theforest.school/careers-copy-1 Forest is seeking a mission-driven Elementary Guide to lead or co-lead a learner-driven Studio and serve as a mentor to both learners and fellow Guides. This is a full-time, in-person position that plays a vital role in shaping a powerful learner-driven environment rooted in real-world application, growth mindset, and learner agency. Key Responsibilities Studio Leadership & Learner Support Lead or co-lead a Studio, fostering ownership through contracts, schedules, and learner-led journeys Guide learners in creating and refining personalized Badge Plans aligned with passions and career aspirations Conduct regular check-ins to support learner accountability, reflection, and growth Oversee the quality of credentialing, including Badge approval, Practicals, and Mastery Transcript documentation Guide Mentorship & Modeling Mentor Apprentice and Junior Guides through observations, coaching, and regular check-ins Model the Guide role and reinforce team norms and best practices Co-author and codify curriculum for Civ, Story Arts, Quest, and Launch, ensuring alignment with school design principles Family & Community Engagement Communicate proactively with parents and caregivers to reinforce the school’s philosophy and learner accountability Host and participate in meetings, Exhibitions, Open Houses, and school-wide events Lead IEP and psychological evaluation processes, ensuring learner success through Hero-parent-Guide collaboration Institutional Contribution & Impact Represent the school in educator training workshops, advisory partnerships, and consulting projects through the Institute Contribute to weekly Studio health updates and reflective blog posts Participate in ongoing research and implementation of innovative learning models, including the 7 Learning Modalities and Guardrails for Innovation Additional Expectations Secure and empower substitutes during absences to maintain Studio continuity Engage in continuous professional learning and embody our evolving Guide Competency framework Perform other duties as assigned by Assistant Heads or Head of School Start date: July 2025
Compensation:
$45-65K commensurate with experience (no medical benefits at this time)
