Job Description
We are looking for a Work Release Coordinator! This role facilitates the successful reintegration of incarcerated individuals into the community by coordinating employment opportunities, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, and maintaining public safety. The Work Release Coordinator serves as a liaison between the correctional facility, employers, courts, and other community stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Screens and verifies that residents meet criteria for work release, including security level, behavior history, and program participation. Communicates regularly with correctional officers and administrative staff to maintain safety and compliance. Tracks work assignments, hours worked, violations, and evaluations. Collaborates with inmates to set goals and create transition plans tailored to their reentry needs. Offers support on workplace behavior, conflict resolution, and job retention. Ensures reliable and secure transportation between the facility and job sites, either directly or through third-party arrangements. Purchases personal items for the Work Release Center residents. Communicates with stakeholders to place residents with employers. Addresses and resolves job concerns with employers and work release center residents. Conducts preemployment assessments and candidate evaluations to facilitate job placement. Conducts walk-through of building and grounds to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards to identify prohibited items.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience in corrections, probation/ parole, social service, case management Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have completed Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) within one (1) year of start date.
