Position SummaryThis is a professional position to beheld by a highly responsible individual who will provide projectmanagement for the
UGA AI4STEM
Education Center and the IESNational GENIUS Center.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/orCompetencies Project management and/or Program Coordination experience in anacademic environment. Agency Grant or Contract Project Management and/or ProgramCoordination experience. NSF, IES, or similar government agencyprojects is highly desirable. Hold or have future plans to receive Project ManagementProfessional (PMP) certification. Extensive knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniquesused in grant preparation, coordination, and implementation at anacademic institution. Ability to establish and maintain effective professionalworking relationships with university personnel, state and federalagencies, and private organizations. Ability to lead as well as work as a team member with allproject partners and staff. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentationskills. Exceptional organization skills with an ability tomultitask. Strong customer service orientation and commitment. Exhibit a very high level of initiative. Ability to work independently and with multiple partners andstakeholders in a deadline-oriented environment. Experience assigning tasks and monitoring progress to meetproject needs and deadlines. Ability to supervise and mentor staff. Ability to participate in the evaluation and analyses ofexisting approaches and procedures and to assist in devising newapproaches. Experience with project management software tools. Advanced word processing and basic data managementskills.
Physical Demands Standard Office Environment. Sitting for extended periods of time. Travel to meetings on and off-campus. Driving as needed to perform jobduties.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide project management andcoordination for the initiatives and incoming or current projectsof the
UGA AI4STEM
Education Center & IES National GENIUS Center,including the following: Support AI4STEM director in coordinating other partnerinstitutions and internal collaborators to establish clear projectoutcome plans, responsibilities, team norms, and progressiontracking plans. Coordinate and specify the weekly activities for projectpersonnel, set norms for Center members, and develop mechanisms totrack progress of tasks. Create meeting agendas and lead and facilitate project meetingsdepending on size of projects. Support the communication and networking with the advisoryboard members and program officers. Assist the Director with national network activities within therealm of AI4STEM and the
IES GENIUS
Center. Recruit new members (e.g., Postdocs, developers, researchassistants). Outreach school participants, including reporting, andrelationship cultivation and maintenance. Address team formation and development and team training,particularly train new project managers.
