Interpretive Resources Program Coordinator 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Gwinnett County, GA Class Summary Job Description The Interpretive Resource Program Coordinator will provide oversight for the historic preservation of county owned historic site and manage artifact and archive collections. Additionally, this position will coordinate the oral history program and supervise staff. Essential Duties Coordinate staff and projects related to procurement, preservation and protection of county managed artifacts and local history archives Provide vision and oversight for the long-term preservation of county owned historic sites through managing protocols for regular inspections and recording preventative maintenance measures Oversee oral history program, upholding current professional standards and ensuring internal processes are maintained Coordinate management of records (including but not limited to provenance, research, condition report, and maintenance documentation) maintained through current county software platforms Facilitate funding for archival work through grants, donations, and management of budget Lead public awareness efforts publicizing the importance of county owned historic sites and artifacts through written, oral, and media driven presentations Respond to complex questions and concerns from internal and external sources and represents the department at meetings and events Set strategic priorities for team and oversee schedules, training, work assignments, and evaluations for multiple staff and interns Facilitate partnerships and collaborate with external and internal organizations, leading the development and implementation of collaboration projects (i.e. exhibits, research, oral history interviews) with other divisions and community partners Conduct local history research that will be used in the interpretation of sites and by educational programs offered by the Department of Community Services Public Speaking Duties Conduct presentations and/or tours related to county owned historic sites Lead staff meetings Present reports to boards, committees, and community groups Other Job Requirements/Information This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Grade The grade for this position is C42(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Human Services, Senior Services, Historic Preservation, Museum Studies, History, or another related field AND four years of curation, historic preservation, recreation experience or related experience, including two years of supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered. Valid driver’s license CPR Certification within 6 months of employment First Aid Certification within 6 months of employment
