JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The FSS Supervisor assists in the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program and provides case management as part of the Housing Choice Department Essential functions: Oversees caseload of up to 50 FSS participants Executes an FSS Contract of Participation with eligible FSS participants Interviews and advises FSS applicants and counsels FSS participants to ensure compliance with program regulations Collaborates with the client to develop the individual training and services plan – the series of intermediate and long-term goals, the steps the family needs to take to achieve those goals, and the services and resources they may need to access to be successful. Guide’s participants in developing achievable goals Monitors, assists, and encourages participants to achieve stated goals and benchmarks within stated deadlines Reviews all documents required of applicants Certifies the eligibility of applicants Verifies income and housing status per program regulations Makes computations to determine continued eligibility Ensures that the client’s individual escrow account is properly maintained Keeps records and prepares reports related to FSS participants, escrow payments, performance measures, community partners. Prepares reports and instructional materials; processes all correspondence pertaining to FSS program Maintains documentation according to established program guidelines Maintains computerized records and databases relating to the FSS program and clients Ensures high scoring under Housing and Urban Development (HUD’s) FSS performance scoring system (Earning Performance Measure 50%, Graduation Rate 30%, and Participation Rate 20%) Communicates regularly with participants, Program Coordinating Committee, and community partners Answers questions and gives information related to the FSS program Briefs FSS participants on the program Supervisory responsibilities N/A Work environment In office setting Physical demands Mobility and flexibility to walk, bend, kneel, lift, and reach to perform above duties as stated Travel required Must poses a valid driver’s license May travel when needed Additional duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Requirements:
Required education and experience A baccalaureate degree plus two years of professional social services experience Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree
