Classroom Teacher / Program Coordinator (6th-8th Social Studies) Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana 3613 Chitimacha Trl, Jeanerette, LA 70544
JOB SUMMARY:
Accomplish the strategic objectives of the Tribal School by planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an elementary and/or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Establish positive relationships with parents and other staff to improve the success of students in accordance with Tribal vision, mission, and values and in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices. This position is also responsible for coordinating and implementing various events related to student and staff participation throughout the year.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must possess a valid Louisiana teaching certificate pertinent to teaching assignment. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a Bachelor’s degree in High School education (7th-12th) with highly qualified credentials toward designated subject area for 6th-8th teaching position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to successfully pass a background screening/investigation. Subject to pre-employment and random drug screen. Valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes. Ability to achieve and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR (child and adult) within six (6) months of employment.
