This platform will be used to improve the health and well-being of PEH through training on health and homelessness, research, and philanthropy focused on housing as a social determinant of health. The VISTA member will alleviate poverty by pulling together the strengths of faculty, staff, and students in the SPHTM, School of Social Work, and School of Medicine to address the complex intersection of health and housing. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal diplomatically with people from a variety of internal and external constituencies Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a great attention to detail (e.g., editing skills for producing & editing instructional guides, website content, and a range of other written material). Effective judgement & ability to discern priorities when managing a variety of activities with multiple deadlines. Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to seeking managerial support when required. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds; a sensitivity to and awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and the impact of systemic inequalities. Demonstrated mastery of basic software applications (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat) Demonstrated mastery of cloud/online software applications (ex. Zoom, MS Teams, Box Drive, Google Drive, One SharePoint) Required Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field and two years experience related to project coordination and/or project & event management that included tasks geared towards public health and housing. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field Two or more years of project experience within a community outreach organization —ideally with a focus on PEH Familiarity with Public Health as a field—either through degree attainment (BPH, MPH, DrPH, PhD) or work experience
